★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Historical place with amazing panoramic view but need more attention, feels quite abandoned.
The Hymn to Liberty ( Ὕμνος εις την Ἐλευθερίαν, Ýmnos eis tīn Eleutherían), of which the first two stanzas, set to music by Nikolaos Mantzaros, became the Greek National Anthem in 1865, was written in this location by Dionysios Solomos, the central figure of the Heptanese School of poetry.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A must see monument if you are interested in Greek history and culture, especially if you are on a tour with Nefis Travel where you will be told the story behind it all and even sing the Greek national anthem for you in the amphitheatre.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place to visit for a late afternoon stroll, especially during golden hour. This is where Dionysios Solomos, the national poet of Greece, wrote the lyrics of the National Anthem, so be sure to do your homework before visiting as it would be more interesting and enjoyable. There’s nothing to do in particular, unless you’re lucky enough to find a live concert in the little amphitheater.
