Upstairs wasn't open but we still had to pay just to look at the two small exhibitions downstairs. Appreciate the culture but the cathedral is a much more beautiful place to visit.

It’s OK and pretty cheap. Most information only in Greek

Some very beautiful art collected from the various Byzantine churches around the island. Also contains an informative miniature version of Zakinthos town, displaying what the town looked like before the infamous earthquake of 1953. An interesting museum that is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in Zakinthos town!

Few pieces but very beautiful art. These icons and paintings were recovered from the island many churches after the devastating earthquake in 1953. Impossible to miss : two impressive iconostasis from the XVII century.

Not worth the 4 euro entrance fee. The upstairs part is closed. Plus almost everything was in greek. The art works are interesting, but they are not kept in a climate controlled environment, and they are degrading. The main room is the most interesting part, with a scale model of the old town before the earthquake. This part is free. But the other 2 rooms which require a ticket are not worth the price.

Shame only a fraction of the museum is open The little bit we did see worth the €2 entrance fee. The 16 and 18th century frames around the paintings amazing. Have not seen many like these.

Loved it! Beautiful greek Christian orthodox paintings and wall paintings salvaged from churches around Zakynthos after the earthquake in the 1950s.

It offers a rich collection of Byzantine icons and pictures. Paintings from different churches and monasteries of the island are transferred in the museum. The building has two flours. The museum often hosts temporary collections and events. The staff is helpful and polite.
