Sunset Restaurant - Eparxiaki odos Hydra

Restaurant offers really beautiful view at the sunset (as it's name claims) and also good meal and wine. We really enjoyed a romantic evening there. :-)

The best feature of Sunset restaurant is its great location, overlooking the sea, with panoramic views of the little islets surrounding Hydra and the mainland in the distance. Great to view the sunset. The decor is simple and elegant. The menu is wide enough and the food is good. Tasty and well presented albeit nothing extraordinary. Prices could be better but you pay for the view. Service was unfortunately very slow as the restaurant is big and understaffed, despite waiters' best efforts. We had to return one dish due to meat being cold, although they reheated it quickly.

What an amazing view and excellent food. Service was just perfect, and the combination of very good food, warm hospitality and amazing sunset worth the ***** rating.

Great food and service. It was lovely to spend evenings (not one!) at the terrace with a sea view. People who work at the restaurant are very lovely. Recommend!

Breath taking views. Average food and extremely pricey. Our waiter stressed us out when it came time to order. Very awkward interaction when paying the bill- he wasn’t going to give us any change and he read the bill out loud instead of showing it to us even though he had it printed in his hands (we had to ask to see it.)

We tried many places in Hydra but kept coming back to the best…Sunset Restaurant. The food is truly outstanding. Chef Michael is a star! The staff are beyond fantastic, incredibly helpful and provide excellent service.

We went with high hopes for this restaurant but were disappointed in every step of the way.. We went fairly early, to eat and enjoy the sunset afterwards. The service was ok until the order was taken from then it went south. The appetizers we order arrived fairly fasr as they are pre-made but the main course which was a rissoti and a salad took almost an hour. An hour in which I asked them multiple times where the dished were. Finally they brought them and both were midiocre. In general the restaurant is gourmet-chasing,with food that is bairly above base while the prices are certainly gourmet (21euro rissoti). The restaurant is understaffed as they could not cope with not even a normal number of visitors. They put a lamp on every table except ours and the cherry on top was when a reservation infront of us came 20 minutes before the sunset, 3 staff members were all over the table giving menus and serving water while the sun was setting behind then, hiding the view for all behind (not the customers, but the waiters. All in all I would not recommend this restaurant as it is extremely overvalued as mediocre food at best and service that acts as if they care when they do not. P.S: you can see the lighting in the photos is different as they took so long to arrive.

It was perfect. The sight was awesome. The service was really attentive. We needed to be on time for the boat and they made sure to serve us on time. The fish was fresh from the sea around and cooked perfectly. The wine was really good and not that expensive. It looks like a tourist trap but it's not one. I'm french I'm really picky trust me it's good.
