★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had dinner at this place. At first we were shocked about the prices. We paid 7€ for 500ml of house wine. We have traveled around crete for one week and never paid more than 4,50€. And then the portions were very small. Only one tiny piece of feta on a greek salad. We left this place hungry. No water or bread on the table. I think all the other Taverns in crete have spoilt us. We told the waitress that the portions are very small and she just said greece is getting expensive. Well the taverns just 200m up the road have great quality, good portions and fair prices.

We savoured the best cocktails ever, as well as specialties of local, home-made confectionary… all of these in a gorgeous, relaxing setting within the natural all-green environment, in the fresh summer breeze. The impeccable service by friendly and hospitable people is carved in our minds. You really have to visit the place – it’s a must !!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very good food here at Diogenes. We had souvlaki and pork gyros with extra Greek salad. Everything was delicious! Nice waiter, who is also the owner I think because it's a family business, is very kind although she was pretty busy because of lunch time. We waited for a little while, but it was definitely worth it. Baklava at the end is pretty good! Would recommend this place to everyone!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is such a good local taverna, with a large menu and friendly faces. Everything we ate there tasted delicious and we enjoyed it so much we went back several times during our stay. It is also so important to support good local businesses during these difficult times and this is one I would highly recommend you support!
