I think this was the Gate of Kalamaria. The Telli Capi Gate (Nea Chrysi) was further north in Agios Dimitrios.

It is part of the outer wall of the city, the rampart. A moat was formed between this and the wall, which was filled with water. Parts of it are visible near Sintrivaniou Square and Republic Square.
