★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you want to experience true Crete go to this taverna. The local family supply meat, vegetables, traditional cheeses, honey from their farm. The food is good. Portions generous and the prices are very reasonable. It's a beautiful setting right on the Riverside and under the trees. They are a lovely friendly family. I highly recommend. For example today we just stopped for drinks. Had a half kilo of wine, they kindly gave us mezze of salad, cheese, olives. 3 euro for all. Go. It's great.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had the meat plate for 2 and it has been full of fat. Therefore only a few little bites have been left to eat. The spot it nice, but the restaurant on the other side of the river did fill, ours did not. There is no better indicator than where most the people sit. Specially during Covid times you could expect waiters wearing there masks properly and keep a good distance. There is quite some room for improvement and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We took one Briam - supposed to be greek dish of cooked veggies in the oven- and actually it turned to be overcooked aubergine, potatoes and zucchini in tomato sauce cooked as a stew. Very disapointing. The portion of chorta (boiled greens) was one of the smallest portion I ever had in Greece. Souvlaki was below average and the tsigariasto lamb the was ok. To summarise: below average experience. Perhaps they believe all tourists have no clue about quality greek food.
