★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Η σιδηροδρομική γραμμή του Πλακιά,κατασκευάστηκε στις αρχές του 20ού αιώνα.Είχε σκοπό την μεταφορά του λιγνίτη από την θέση εξόρυξης ( Καμμένα Αλώνια ) στο νοτιοδυτικό άκρο του κόλπου του Πλακιά,ώστε να φορτωθεί στα πλοία που προσέγγιζαν το σημείο.Δύο σήραγγες και άλλα τμήματα της κατασκευής,σώζονται μέχρι σήμερα.Το τοπίο είναι επιβλητικό,βραχώδες,απόκρημνο και με πολύ ωραία θέα προς το κόλπο του Πλακιά !!
 The railway line of Plakias was built in the early 20th century. It was intended to transport lignite from the mining site (Kammena Alonia) to the southwestern end of the bay of Plakias, to be loaded on ships approaching the site. Two tunnels and other sections of the construction, are preserved until today. The landscape is imposing, rocky, steep and with a very nice view to the bay of Plakias !!
