Traditional Rooms Elena - Astyraki Maleviziou-Irakeio

Positiv: Es ist wirklich "traditional" und rustikal. Das Haus und der Garten sind wunderschön und alles sauber. Wir hatten 2 Doppelzimmer gebucht und eine Art Ferienwohnung bekommen: ein Wohnzimmer mit Küchenzeile (die wir nicht genutzt haben, daher kann ich zur Ausstattung nichts sagen) und Gartenzugang, davon gingen links und rechts jeweils ein kleines Bad mit Badewanne ab und eine Treppe nach oben zum Schlafzimmer jeweils mit Balkon. Das beste ist jedoch das Essen. Sowohl das Abendessen als auch das Frühstück sollte man mitbuchen, denn es ist echt kretisch, bio und lokal aus dem eigenen Garten bzw. näheren Umfeld. Selbst das Wasser kommt direkt aus den Bergen. Dazu selbstmachter Wein und Raki (Tresterschnaps, nicht mir dem türkischen Raki verwechseln) so viel, wie man verträgt und nette Gespräche mit dem Vermieter. Ein paar gute Tipps, welche Strände wir besuchen sollten, wenn wir keine Menschenmassen wollen, hatte er auch auf Lager. Es tat uns leid, nur eine Nacht dort geblieben zu sein und wir werden sicher wiederkommen. Noch ein Tipp: Wenn Google Maps ca. 5km vor dem Ziel meint, man solle jetzt auf einen Feldweg durch den Olivenhain abbiegen - tut das nicht. Astiraki ist ein kleines Dorf, in das sich kaum ein Tourist hin-verirrt, aber es ist nicht so abgelegen, dass man es nicht auf einer asphaltierten Straße erreichen könnte. Was wir durch diese "Abkürzung" an Strecke gespart haben, haben wir an Nerven verloren. Bleibt einfach auf der Straße und ihr werdet sicher ankommen. Für dieses Abenteuer kann der Gastgeber nichts, aber für die nächsten Gäste ist es gut zu wissen.. Negativ: Nichts. Für eine ganze Woche Familienurlaub wäre es mir dann doch zu rustikal gewesen (und kein Schrank im Zimmer), aber für 2-3 Tage und dann die Berge erkunden, ist diese Unterkunft sehr gut geeignet..

Beautiful house, cool, comfortable, lovely village and mountains an great home cooked food, warm host Jan that can speak fluent English.

Positive: Room in a small Greek village. Host was nice and helpful and other people too. Good value for money and not far from Psiloritis natural parl..

Nice rural non touristic village. Rooms are part of an old village house with nice views.Great value for the price. Best of all is the food that Mrs Elena cooks!

Positive: The view from the room was beautiful, it’s a relaxing place, and we had a yummy diner with our host John. We exchanged during the meal, it was really great to have some tips for our trip in Crête. I recommend !.

Positive: Everything depends on what are you looking for. We were looking for calm atmosphere in the mountains and it was the best place we could reach. Wonderful service in John’s person, very comfortable bed, beautiful evenings with Greek wine and raaki, Greek hospitality, otters looking through the window as an additional value of the place ? Cats taking the sunbath in the front of the door, delicious goats’ milk. Everything you can find here. If you have a car you can easy reach Heraklion, Ammoudara beach and other beaches. Also beautiful non touristic villages and towns. It’s near to the mountains paths. During the car trips you can admire the breathtaking mountain views. You can feel here the special Crete’s climate and atmosphere where people are hearty, open and always smile. Completely recommended. We will come back for sure ❤️. Negative: No things like that.

Positive: Felt like going to visit some old friend! Jhon make us feel at home from the beginning, the room was cosy and simple but you have your own small kitchen and bathroom. looks very traditional to us! We had traditional vegan dinner and house wine and Raki with the owner, everything was delicious and vibes were very good! Unfortunately mama Elena couldn't join us but she call after dinner to know if everything was ok! There is a patio were you can chill and listen to the nature and enjoy the fresh air and relax! Definitely recommend if you are looking for a cosy traditional place! Thanks Jhon and mama Elena!. Negative: Nothing.

Positive: the breakfast and evening meals were superb John was an excellent host and kept us entertained. a real get away from it all location . we certainly left with fully charged batteries..I wish I had paid more attention to his mountain tea mix.It contained more herbs than normal. we had a lovely meal in Anogia on our first night then enjoyed Mammas evening meals which were delicious. Not to mention the complimentary Wine and Raki.. Negative: Nothing really we were looking for somewhere near the PAGNI hospital and although it wasn't far it was a twisty windy road through a gorge...
