★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You'll have an excellent time if you stay at Xidas gardens. Rooms have recent been renovated and the facilities are great. Good value for money when all inclusive, you can generally find something to eat from the varied buffet selection and then relax at the poolside terrace/bar. A family run hotel, everyone is welcoming and friendly. I'd definitely recommend staying here if you're visiting this region of crete. It's only a 15 minute walk from the 'main' road to catch the buses to the major cities, or you can hire a car and get quickly into the winding mountain roads and valleys of crete.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We've been at Xidas two times now and already booked the third one. The selection of food is indeed not the biggest, however there's more then enough choices and it's always been good. Some foods are even handmade by the grandma of the stuff.
The stuff itself is awesome and always very open to their guests. Never ever I've felt so welcomed in a hotel. It's fully family driven and that's where the charm comes from.
The five beaches of Bali are all into walking distance. For snorkeling I'd recommend the fourth one. Just ask about the directions at the reception. The receptionist is awesome and still guide you you're way.
