Super easy trail and fantastic views. The far left end is nudist, beware.

A small beautiful canyon from Anidri village to Yaliskari beach. It takes on the average about an hour without stops. The level of difficulty is relatively easy. There's one place that you need to use a rope to get down a rock about 13 feet high. Most paths you can walk. Few places you must climb. It combines the rocky colors of south Crete and wild plants that include oregano and levanta. You can hear or see (wild?) goats along the path. You need to bring water with you especially if you try it the hot days - hours of summer. However there are hoses that bring water to Yaliskari and 2 places where you can stop and use tap water. When you arrive to Yaliskari, you can jump and take a dive into the clear waters of the beach. You need to arrange for transportation back to the village. Ok for kids 9 and older. Cheers and Yeia mas.

Great and easy walk from Anidri to the beach. No problem with Flip Flops, if you are a safe walker. Took us around 1,5 hours with two small kids (6 and 8 yrs). Started at around 11 am, path is half sun/half shade at this time. Taxi from Paleochora to Anidri was € 10.

Very nice, short hike. Might not be as spectacular as Imbros or Samaria Gorge, but it can be done in around 1h and requires bit of actual climbing (where Imbros is 100% walking, zero hiking required). There are plenty of 30-50 cm rocks you need to climb through and at one point there is 1,5 meter rock with rope ladder you have to go through:)

Beautiful gorge. Climbing to the top involves some clambering over rocks as the path is not clear all the way, but the little added difficulty made it interesting. If you manage to get all the way up (1 hour and a bit), you would not be amiss to have a meal at Sto Scholeio.

Please, under no circumstances, do this trail with flip flops. I don't know why these people here are writing that flip flops are okay, but if you don't bring good shoes you are going to have serious problems. In general I don't know how one is even able to entertain the idea that any trail is doable with flip flops. Never should you go hiking without good shoes. The trail is beautiful and fun though.

Important information if you start the hike from the beach upwards to the village: There is a sign in the parking to guide where the hike begins. Just shortly after there is a fork: to the left the dried river bed with the orange straight line marking and to the left the steep slope with the orange circle marking and arrows. We decided to go left, following the line marking and the dried river bed. The hike until the tavern took us exactly an hour. You definitely need good sport shoes/trainers since you have to climb big rocks. There is a spot where you have to climb up a 2m wall by a rope so you need a good grip. After a while you get to new sign post and we followed the right path, where the markings where suddenly grey/silver. Then you can quickly see the river and climb near a fence. The last 1/3 of the way is on a concrete street. At the end of the street at the fork, take the right path, walk past the house and up to the church. Then you'll see the tavern. They are open since the morning for drinks but they serve food after 1. I definitely recommend this route starting from the beach going up. Have a drink and rest and go back :) check my photos for details. There is no internet connection on the path
