★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Man sieht nur Steinreste eines Gebäudes oder Mauer? Man weiß es leider nicht. Liegt direkt vor unserem Hotel. Es sind leider keine Hinweisschilder angebracht, es wäre schön wenn die Stadtverwaltung hier was machen würde.
 You can only see the remains of a building or a wall? Unfortunately, you do not know it. Is right in front of our hotel. Unfortunately, there are no signs attached, it would be nice if the city administration would do something here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The gist of the comments already posted is correct. Fenced off and, as far as I could see, uncurated, this important ruin could be so much more. I would expect a far higher degree of archaelogical and historical care in a place as significant as Crete. The same can be said of the ruins of Kamara in Agios Nikolaos which do, in fact, have a placard but one which raises more questions than it answers.
