A lovely, lovely place to be. The hotel is rustic and authentic. Rooms are all different and characteristic. Staff is excellent!! We didn't plan to have dinner every night at the hotel but the food was so exceptional that we did. Highly recommended!! (PS: staff understood our love for Leonard Cohen and played his songs every night for us!)

This hotel is a converted sponge factory and warehouse a few blocks from the port in Hydra. It is endlessly interesting in its decor and features, is luxurious and well appointed. Our room had a terrace with a table and chairs, built in seats, and some chaise lounges. It offered a view of the hill that comprises the port city's eastern side. It also overlooked the beautiful garden, over a colonnade and pavilion covered with bougainvillea and dotted with fruit trees. The decor was purposefully rustic, but the room was accessible only by a straight, one flight stairway. Winding around our second story terrace was a street, frequented by the iconic mule trains. There is a large, clean swimming pool, which I understand is an unusual feature in Hydra. The restaurant features poolside, garden, or indoor seating, and a menu featuring tapas at night. The included breakfast buffet was excellent, with dairy, baked goods, meats, fruit, eggs, including custom ordered, offered daily. Fine and affordable restaurants were within a few steps of the hotel. We were given good and accurate advice on excursions we could take im Hydra at reception, where everyone spoke English well.

Positive: The location was good and I liked the spacious garden.. Negative: I found the room small for the price i paid. The pool did not look very clean and it did not look like anyone ever used it to swim..

I love your unique property when I visited Greece in fact I didn't even get a chance to stay there. But I did remember it and loved it so much that I sent all my clients they are now. Since I own a travel agency I'm always looking for Unique experiences and your property is definitely one. Maybe one day I'll be able to come back soon and really enjoy it.

Positive: Delicious buffet breakfasts were served beside the pool each morning - high-quality Greek produce such as yogurt with fresh fruit and honey, eggs, freshly squeezed OJ and veggie tart from a family recipe! Serving breakfast until 11am and having checkout at midday both made for a nice relaxing pace. The property itself is full of charm - a storied building, simply yet stylishly converted to a boutique hotel. It feels tucked-away and tranquil, within a private, vine-covered courtyard, yet is only a minute's walk from the harbour and has taverns and bars just around the corner. We were also thrilled to receive a complimentary room upgrade, as a lovely gesture for our 10th anniversary.. Negative: It would be good to cut back on some examples single-use packaging for more eco-friendly alternatives - for example, to serve the yogurts in normal bowls (as opposed to disposable with plastic lids) at breakfast time, and it doesn't seem necessary to seal towels from housekeeping inside plastic packets each day (especially when we'd hung ours up to indicate we were happy to re-use)..

Positive: The Hotel is ideally situated, very close to the harbor, but i a quiet street. A calm, cool courtyard with a pool is there to relax. The staff is very friendly and helpful.. Negative: The mattresses were on the hard side for my taste - but tastes can vary..

Bratsera is the most idyllic hotel I've stayed in, located in magical Hydra. The hotel is quiet, has a lovely pool and sweet jasmine naturally scents the grounds. The hotel is clean, has a lovely art gallery in the reception area and everyone is friendly. The hotel has a fine restaurant, too. Now i understand when people say a bartender/waiter enhanced the experience. Tryantafyllos (hope I typed his name right) is a true Greek ambassador and caring waiter. He also happens to make the best Negroni I've ever had and will share his secrets. We're dreaming about going back soon. ???
