This review is for my experience with the owner/manager of MegaRent, Emmanuel. I was looking for a large automatic SUV for my group of 5, and at first MegaRent looked like a great low cost option. A couple weeks went by from my initial email conversation with Emmanuel, and I remembered that I never booked the car, so I reached back out to him to see if it was still available. He confirmed that it was, and I texted my group to make sure they were ok with the car and price and found out that another girl in my group had actually found & booked a larger SUV at another company. I let Emmanuel know that we no longer needed a car, and his response was appalling. Emmanuel shamed and harassed me for not booking the car with MegaRent. Needless to say, I'm glad that my friend booked with another company! Email thread below. Me: Sorry for the late reply. Can I still book the vehicle we discussed? Emmanuel: Yes, you can book the car, now. So, thank you for your choice. In order to confirm the reservation you will need to pay a 30% deposit. After you successfully complete the payment please also send us an email to inform us. (*deleted the payment details*) A Representative of MegaRent will wait for you at the arrivals hall of Heraklion Airport holding a sign with your name on and escort you to our office just across the street. Please, don't forget to wright the arrival flight number, and the arrival time, to. Me: Great, thank you so much! I will let you know if I have any questions. Emmanuel: Thank you, we wait for the deposit of your reservation. *I hadn’t responded to the previous email, before I received the next email* Emmanuel: I am really sorry, but if you don't pay asap, the deposit, we can't accept your reservation . Me: So sorry! My friend just told me she already booked a car. Thank you for all of your help! Emmanuel: To be honest i never believe you that you reserve the car . I think you used our offer to take another one better from another company. I am sorry about you, and your method. Me: My friend actually booked a car that is much more expensive than your offer, but it is a bigger car. We have 5 people and with all of our luggage we think the Jeep Renegade will be too small for us. I'm sorry for all of the back and forth. I really was hoping to rent through MegaRent as there are many good reviews online, but I'm glad I didn't now based on your attitude. Emmanuel: Sorry for us there are clients with your own mindset. Fortunately few! Please do not take up with us again. Me: Wow. We needed a bigger car. That’s it. I’ve never come in contact with such a rude person in a customer service position. Like you said, “Fortunately there are few!” I will be calling your management to complain, as well as posting your emails online for others to see. No one deserves to be shamed for not choosing your company. Emmanuel: Unfortunately for you I have all your messages and especially the yesterday you wrote to me if the car is still available, and if IT IS, I want to RESERVE IT it.! Suddenly and while you agreed, I asked for the advance, you remembered that you need a bigger car !! To know that it is very easy for us to learn if you own a car, a car and of course which company. And let them know about all that you write about us. Also, it is only easy for us to publish all your messages you have written for us as well as all you have written about the criticisms we have. Fortunately, all those who have taken a car from our company are happy. Nevertheless, and because I have asked you, please do not re-engage with us, nor do you with us. We want you to pass well on our island and come back. And last but not least, we have big cars, you can see them in our SITE , but you did not ask for it. we want you to have a good time in Crete, without any other problems. Emmanuel is a direct person who will provide you with trusted car and insurance by best price in Crete. He drives to where you are to easen the car delivery and is a real problem solving. Only minus I can say is that the car was not clean at all, but all in all you get good value for your money. I will repeat our next time at Crete and I do recomment it.

Very good experience overall, and probably among the very best rentals I ever had in my life (both in various european countries and in North America). Emmanuel is very responsive, offered a great price and a car in perfect condition. The transaction was friendly, fast and efficient. Will rent at Megarent again if I'm ever back to Crete!

Rented a Fiat 500 cabrio for a great price! The manager responded very quickly to emails and was welcoming when we arrived to pick up the car. Gave us some tips of places to visit in Crete.

This guy is great ! We were lost in heraklion and he went as far as to come and pick us up and provided us with a car for a very honest price even without reservation (but you probably want to book in advance). We had a clean and well maintained fiat punto. Emmanuel will not try to sell you useless insurances, no nonsense, just honest business. You can rent from him with your eyes closed and not stress about your car during your holidays.

Emmanouil was really helpful, our ferry was delayed and yet he was waiting patiently at the port with our car and quickly organised everything back at the office so we could be on our way. He had good advice for our onward journey. The car that we were given was very new and great, spotlessly clean with no problems at all. I did a fair bit of research prior to the booking and he was the cheapest reliable agency in Heraklion. Would recommend for any other bookings and use again!

Great experience. I used to book through online intermediaries, but they were really expensive so I looked a bit further and bumped into MegaRent. Proper and quick communication, nearly brand-new car, full insurance without excess damage, free baby seat and most of all: no hassle. Most car companies try to take additional money from you in all kinds of ways, not here, and pricing is certainly competitive. Recommended!

Very disappointed by our experience with MegaRent. We arrived at the airport at 4,00h in the morning and were supposed to be picked up at 6,00h (although when we arrived many companies were already open and working). To start with, the owner arrived 30 minutes late, at 6,30h. They did not have the car they had told us (a Fiat Panda) so instead they gave us an old Peugeot 107 with the air-conditioning poorly working (pictures attached), and offered no compensatory discount at all. He told us he would come to our hotel to change the car the next day, so we waited for him, but he did not show up at all (without preventing us)! He then told us by mail that we would come to make the change two days later, so we arranged our holiday plans to keep that morning free... but once again he did not come and for the second time he never called/wrote to warn us!!! Later that day he informed us that we would stay with that car during the entire vacations. He never apologized personally when we gave the car back. It seemed to us that they were only interested in taking our money and not in offering a good service. It is true that their prices are competitive, but so are the ones of other Cretan local agencies. I don't recommend it at all!!
