★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Απίστευτο το τι φαίνεται από αυτό το μέρος. Από τις βόρειες ακτές της Κρήτης ως και τα βουνά της Κανδάνου στα νότια. Πολύ στρατηγικής σημασίας σημείο, αν και όπως φαίνεται από την ανυπαρξία ιστορικών ντοκουμέντων το κάστρο έμεινε σε αχρηστία σχεδόν από την κατασκευή του και μετά, άρα δεν διαδραμάτισε κάποιον σπουδαίο ρόλο. Πιθανότατα όταν άρχισαν να το κτίζουν είχαν πρόβλημα με τους Άραβες, ενώ όταν κτίστηκε η πειρατεία είχε παταχθεί και δεν υπήρχε ουσιαστικός λόγος χρήσης του.

A point of great strategic importance, although it seems from the absence of historical documents that the castle was left almost useless from its construction onwards, so it did not play a significant role. Most likely, when they started building it, they had a problem with the Arabs, while when the piracy was built, it was built and there was no real reason to use it.
