Best Hiking area in Greece

M	Marleen Out on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Easy hiking trail. From Mesaflion you walk down to the gorge. Some nice views on the mountains. There is a path next to the gorge so easy hiking. A nice place to have a rest halfway the gorge. Very quiet.
S	Sam Green on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not the same Gorge as 2018.Totally changed .Not easy anymore ! Road completely gone ! Even the concrete bits !!Completely swept away by the winter floods at the start of 2019.Not suitable for cycling, people who find walking difficult ,no vehicle access anymore .Be prepared for a proper hike including climbing over boulders .A lot nicer now .more in tune with nature ,with a lot more birds (more difficult for people with shotguns to get there?).
B	Babs on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The gorge is beautiful and the walk would be amazing if most of it hadn't been severely damaged by what it seems a landslide and a flood. You can still walk through the gorge but it will be a lot of ups and downs over rocks, except for the remainings of the concrete route. Recommended for adults but not for children.
J	Jasper on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice (beautiful) gorge. In some hiking guides it is mentioned as beeing kid friendly and I wonder if that's true. The gorge has some serious damage from the 2019 floods. Paths are gone and loads of rocks everywhere. Not a problem for most, but with small kids or elderly people I would recommend doing something else.

Thus, we would recommend good hiking shoes and some extra time to jump over some old stones and hike the beautiful path. Also, visit Deliana afterwards - stunning village with the best food in Crete!
M	Manuel Walter on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The trail is nice and mostly Easy to hike, even too easy I would say. It's a bit too short for people that enjoy hiking, but that makes it interesting for older ones and families with small kids. One can hike up the hill after the chapel, but it's not worth it.
M	Matt Ung on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Way there is properly signposted from the main road. From the paved road you walk down a steep dirt road to the gorge. We were there in the 2nd half of June. There was almost no water but nice trees and rocks. OK with the 6 year old, too difficult for the 2 year old. Overall nice excursion from the beach. The Delania side must be easier to access...
