My girlfriend and I stayed at this property between July and August 2019, in the "Salvia" room. The property is located in a quiet and peaceful location a few minutes drive to Argostoli. We had a great welcome on arrival and correct information for our holiday in Kefalonia. Breakfast was very good, maybe a little too repetitive. So far so good, except that once back in Italy we both had to go to the emergency room for numerous pustules caused by wood and bed parasites, which cost us the beauty of € 123 of medicine. By contacting the structure to explain our discomfort we found less and less cordiality to be ignored completely. Of course we had to report everything during our stay (we had noticed the bites) but in good faith we thought only of being attacked by mosquitoes, having many in the farm. We will not denounce the fact to the competent authorities just because we have started a legal procedure Italy-Gracia for € 123 of medical expenses, it would be useless and miserable. I limit myself only to advise against this structure to all those who are not willing to take the risk of being as ill as we are. I do not attach photos of our bodies and medical report for good taste and to respect our privacy.

A hidden gem. We like to get away from the hoi polloi on holiday, and Gentilini provided absolute tranquility, relaxation and buckets of charm in a stunning setting. Set within ancient olive groves, the wonderful owner Eleni puts on an epic breakfast of homemade feta, lemonade from her lemon trees, honey from their hives, olive oil pressed from 2000 year old trees (which you can buy, too), homemade marmalade, fresh peaches, figs, creamy Greek yoghurt, crusty bread and great coffee. It’s an idyllic start to the day. Eleni was an amazing host, going above and beyond, giving us tips for the best restaurants, hidden beaches and most importantly where to avoid. A tasting at her sister’s nearby winery, Gentilini Winery, is a must. The stone cottages, surrounded by pink oleander, are very roomy, comfortable and clean. We really enjoyed sitting out at night looking at the millions of stars (no light pollution here) and listening to all the amazing nature. The large pool is a 2 min walk down a pathway, set right in the middle of the olive grove, with the backdrop of Kefalonia’s dramatic mountains. It is absolutely incredible. We felt pretty smug to have found this little corner of paradise (and have it to ourselves!).

This is a fabulous place! A quiet, peaceful, beautiful retreat within a truly stunning ancient olive grove. Eleni and Natalie, the hosts, are welcoming, knowledgable and caring. The rooms are gorgeous, decorated with elegant simplicity. Breakfast is delicious. The lovely pool area under the olive trees has a vintage feel. An absolutely unique place. The retreat is close to Argostoli, to St George castle and quite a few good restaurants, to many lovely beaches and to Mount Ainos for mountain hiking. We come and stay here every year but because of the pandemic this year we just passed to say hi to Eleni and realised how much we love Gentilini and its people.
