Supposing we booked a privet villa with privet pool! yet we couldn't use the pool after 20.00 o'clock and as for the privacy the owners live in the basement and appear at least 2 times a day! Also after 3 days of staying we asked for one clean towel but they didn't give us with the excuse that they change the towels after the 3 days !It's a beautiful place but if you go with friends to have fun ,you should be very quiet(or mute!) elsewhere you'll get a scolding!

No privacy - owner lives in the basement! We've rented the house for 1 week in August 2020. We've choosen this one because we looked for a nice private house with a pool and a view. As the owners live in the basement of the house you have NO PRIVACY: - every morning they will be in the garden, next to the pool, right in front of the bedroom-windows doing some cleaning, checking the pool, wandering around for 15-30 minutes. even on the day of the check-out. this is not necessary at all, there was nothing to clean, nothing to do. it is just "their rule" - you are not allowed to use the pool after 8pm. they explain this with "we have to put chemicals in the pool every evening". Why this is necessary I have no idea. Plus we have never seen them do this, so I guess it is just a bad explanation, because they want you to be quite. One evening our children used the pool (no jumping, just being in the pool and they have been very quiet) at shortly before 8 pm. At 8:10pm the owner came to the pool yelling at the children "where is your mom, where is your mom" - we sat upstairs on the balcony. She came with a little snack (which is always nice of course) and they had to get out of the pool. - everytime when we left the house, they have been to the pool area and checked everything. we left a towel outside - they put it on a cloth line. we arranged the cushions on the lounge chair in a different way - they have rearranged them really everytime! so they are always there, nothing you can do without them looking, checking, etc. the house: - it looks like the pictures, the view is amazing, to pool is small but ok. - the bedrooms and the bathroom are very small, there are no wardrobes in the bedrooms, only a very small area for some clothes, so we left all our clothes in the suitcases, which was not ideal. - the stairs are very narrow, not ideal for smaller kids or older people. - the kitchen is well equiped - you get towels - they come in different colours, one colour is not allowed to be put outside, the other colour is for the outside area. although it says on the website, that you will get beach towels, you do not get them. it took me 10 minutes to convince her to allows us to take some - I think it were the grey/brown coloured ones - to the beach, but we were not allowed to put them on the sand, only use them to get dry. the service: So you see, there are lots and lots of rules you have to follow. We arrived quite late on the first day, and it took her 1 hour to show us around and tell us all the rules and even with saying "oh, we are tired now" and "it was a long flight" and "the kids are tired" and "I guess we understood" she wouldn't shorten her talk. She has her rules and she sticks to it, she is not flexibel at all. We had our flight back late in the evening and asked if we could stay longer (there were no new guests arriving and the house was not booked at all, because of the end of summer and of course covid19) and she said it's possible if we pay an extra 1/2 day, but not without paying. We've paid 3500 for the week, so I hoped for some more generostiy. But she allowed us the use her towels for the afternoon and we brought them back in the evening before our flight. You will get breakfast every day and it is delicious, we really enjoyed this part, so she takes good care of you, is always smiling (but very strict and very demanding, it's does not feel like a welcoming smile if you know what I mean). Conclusion: If privacy is not important for you, if the rules are ok for you and if you don't mind the small beds and bedrooms you will like it and will find yourself sitting on the balcony smiling and enjoying the breakfast and the view. If you are looking for privacy, for a little bit of luxury and like to use the pool in the evening, you will not be happy and I would not recommand it with children. You need a car.

We were lucky enough to book this beautiful home for our vacation in Santorini. The home has amazing an view of the Caldera and you can view the Sunset every night form the comfort of your own balcony. Our Hostess Maria was wonderful and helped us so much planning our tours and daily excursions. She made wonderful traditional Greek breakfast for us everyday of our stay, and they were delicious. She made sure we had everything we needed and has great contacts and partnerships with the local restaurants. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect vacation. Our only regret is that we had to leave!

Hemera Villa is in an ideal location to be able to visit all the places on Santorini that you have heard about as well as providing the perfect place to relax and get away from life for awhile. Maria is kind, helpful, caring and great cook, she makes the Villa something special. Loved every minute of our time there and would highly recommend it if your are visiting Santorini.

This is by far the best place to stay in Santorini. Your host, Maria is absolutely wonderful and welcoming. You have the view that you can only dream of. You are in a location that is a distance away from the crowds of Oia and Fira, yet you are a short distance away from those two villages. You are close to the red beach and you are close to other beautiful villages of Santorini like Madelahori, Parissa and gorgeous black beaches of Kamari. You wake up every morning to a delicious home made Greek breakfast made from the local gardens and start another beautiful vacation day. When you are done you come home to relax by a nice pool with a beautiful view of the Caldera. We cannot say enough about the location or our host. Our vacation was absolutely perfect, thanks to Maria and this beautiful home!
