★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Византийская церковь 11-12 года постройки, данных о ней почти нет. Церковь сохранилась практически в первозданном виде и имеет архитектурный тип, преобладающий в Афинах того периода. Купол покоится на двух стенах святилища и на двух колоннах, увенчанных римскими капителями. Здесь нет богатства оформления, зато первозданность её убранства позволяет понять какими были церкви того периода.
По преданию, две гаубицы, которые сильно повредили Парфенон во время осады Акрополя венецианским адмиралом Морозони, располагались недалеко от церкви.
Byzantine church built in 11-12, there is almost no data about it. The church has survived almost in its original form and has the architectural type that prevailed in Athens at that time. The dome rests on two walls of the sanctuary and on two columns crowned with Roman capitals. There is no richness of decoration, but the primordialness of its decoration makes it possible to understand what the churches of that period were like.
According to legend, two howitzers, which severely damaged the Parthenon during the siege of the Acropolis by the Venetian Admiral Morozoni, were located not far from the church.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was built the 12th century and It is very small but beautiful. It is open to the public every 8th of May and 26th of September. It had an innovative speaker system that amplified the voice of the priest. Unfortunately there no written sources about the history of church. Worth a visit if you're in the area. Another hidden gem of Athens.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A diminutive but charming byzantine church. Inside, some traces of 13th century hagiographies can be seen. The church is open for visiting between 10 and 2 every day, by some friendly volunteers who look after it. Make sure you say hello to them and thank them for their efforts.
