The church of Agios Stefanos was built in the 16th century, and was almost completely rebuilt in the 18th century, when it took the form of a three-aisled basilica, including a part of an older temple, probably early Christian, parts of which are preserved on the west wall of the present church.

It is next to the school. The paintings on the walls are blackened and you can not understand who the saints are. The temple underwent a radical reconstruction in the 16th century. It is a monument of the late Roman and early Christian past of Veria, because in addition to the early Christian capitals, it has a Roman inscription placed on the floor, before the main entrance.
