Couldn't get in because our NHS app wasn't working. Be sure to download your vaccination certificate before you leave. Wonderful views and walkways.

It was built in the 10th/11th centuries. The surrounding area is very green and beautiful. It isn't too far away from the center of Athens but you need a car to visit it. There are a few buildings except the church, like the bath house etc. The frescoes in the church are amazing and some of them were made in 14th century. Highly recommended.

Quiet and beautiful monastery in a nice area for walking and enjoying the view on Athens. Compared to the bustling acropolis this is heaven. You're free to walk into the different buildings, the kitchen, the eating quarters, the sleeping cells and the nicely decorated little church. You can park on the adjacent road or a little bit further on a parking area. Admission is 2€.

Excellent place just a few minutes from the centre of Athens. Lots of further imrprovement could be done further, however, still is an excellent place. The place if for for anyone! Hiking, bicycling or just have a sit in the coffee place to enjoy the marvellous view. Have in mind to wear a pair of sneakers and comfortable clothings and of you go..

A lovely forest for various activities, near the center of town. A history-heavy place too. The botanical trail is great and if you follow it to the end, you get rewarded by coffee or a beer at the nice wooden coffee shop Kalopoula.

What a gem. We go there when we can. Walk and hike to all the hidden paths. We discover something new every time. It is quiet there is clean air and if you go during the week plenty of parking. Take the time to get lost. It is only a few minutes from the center of Athens.

Cozy small monestary on mount Hymettus. We went here by car and could park right next to the monestary. For only 2,- euro entry fee and covid-check we could enter. This visit is a maximum of 15-30 minutes since the monestary is quite small and not fully open (such as the chambers) but nonetheless worth a visit. Very interesting to see how these people lived such lives back in about the 12th century. The ceiling art inside the church/chapels and the buildings have been preserved and restored well.

Beautiful place not far from Athens. The place is quite small but charming. Well-preserved frescoes in the church. Unfortunately, some things are closed, but it's still worth a look.
