Definitely worth recommending. Car was well maintained, clean and allowed us to explore many magic places through Crete :) Beside of that owners are such a nice people!

We can't praise Horifakia Car Rentals high enough. My wife and I have used their services for several consecutive years now and found their service excellent. Moreover, we had further reason to praise their professionalism, we experienced a serious car crash whilst on the island of Crete where the hire car was badly damaged through no fault of our own I might add, fortunately my wife and I were relatively unharmed. However, the service we received from Horifakia Car Rentals was second to none. They very quickly found us, even though we were way up in the White Mountains, changed cars and removed the damaged one and sorted everything out at no extra costs to us and we were able to continue our stay on the Island, a little bruised, but safe and sound. That's truly good service. Richard & Evelyn Judd

I booked and used Horifakia Car rentals having previously discovered them whilst staying at the Aloni Suites nearby. Excellent rates, car I chose (i30) was perfect for a family of four & you can get two large and one small suit case in the boot. The service was typically casual & relaxed. I paid by credit card which incurred an extra charge (not their fault) but they even let us take the car before paying, trusting us to settle the following day.

Excellent little car hire place with a good range of cars at great value. We were met at the airport, paperwork was done i a couple of minutes and we were away just after that. Drop off back at the airport was again hassle free. We used a Kia Piccanto which was a great little car. It even did brilliantly in the high mountains with a family of four. I would recommend these guys definitely.

Excellent services, low prices, no credit card deposit required. I have asked for a car rental a day before and I got it. Lena and Stelios were very helpful with the baby seat. The car was good. I am very pleased with their rental and would do the same again in Crete.

We enquired for an automatic car a week before arriving but the car that we wanted were all booked out. We got a suggestion to rent another one at the same price bracket which we duly did. They met us at the airport despite an hour delay of the flights, and money and paperwork was exchanged outside. Car was good throughout the week and the drop off of the car at the airport was hasslefree without any checks. I would use them again if I came back for a holiday, so would highly recommend!

This story is so ridiculous that hard to believe. I sincerely advise against using the services of this company. While in Crete, we wanted to support small local businesses but unfortunately they proved not to be serious about the way they treat customers. We booked a car with them about two weeks in advance by e-mail, agreed on all conditions, sent all our data and received all the necessary confirmations. That didn’t mean anything for them, however, as it appeared later. All our phone and e-mail arrangements were made with probably the owner, a lady called Lena but a representative with very basic English was sent to meet us and hand over the car. During the meeting, the man (whom it would be hard to call ‘polite’) at some moment stood up, packed his things and just ...walked away. We were stunned. We called the office to report the incident and get clarification. The lady informed us that the man had done so because we had asked him some questions and they would not rent us the car. We couldn’t believe that! Not only didn’t the owner apologise and wanted to explain the situation but also accused us of the intention we never had. The two questions we asked the men were: Why it is forbidden to go to Balos by car (after he mentioned this fact) and if the car is in a good technical condition. The car rental didn’t want the renters to travel to Balos. They made it clear and we had no other intention than to respect it. The fact that, out of curiosity, we asked about the reason does not mean anything different than that – we were curious what makes it impossible. The owner, however, didn’t want to listen to us, either. The whole situation was, we think, the biggest absurd we have ever experienced in customer care. Lena promised to think over the issue and phone us the next day with her final decision but she never did so. It took her a few days to answer our complaint by e-mail. Her explanation this time was a bit different: she decided not to rent us the car we had booked with her office, the car she had sent the man with the keys to, because she needed a spare car on her car park. Peculiar. It seems that in this office you are at the mercy of Lena no matter what arrangements you have made in advance, even if they are written binding agreements. No need to say, Lena never offered any kind of apology, help or solution. A small ‘family’ business indeed. Another interesting aspect of the office is that they only accept cash payment. In the context of the above, on the one hand it makes a ‘no strings attached’ policy perfectly possible, but on the other hand, it might be a part of a bigger issue.
