J	Joao Borges on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ SCAM! Stay away! They are friendly at arrival to get you relaxed and looking forward to the holidays so you don't pick up on things. In our case, I went around inspecting the car for previous scratches with the lady there and she had her notepad as (I realize now) pretended to note everything down. My mistake was assuming that I was talking to honest people and didn't triple check before signing. It only took one unmarked scratch (out of maybe 15) to catch us in the end. On return, the lady went straight to that unmarked one (like she knew already). Then they riped us of by charging 235€ for a small scratch (barely larger that a coin size) that would clearly come away with just some polish. To make it worse I know that they will never repair it and just make money like that.
D	Djonnie on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beware of this company. They hand out really old and bad cars when they are overbooked. For example: Our roof was falling down, radio not functioning, lots of error messages on the display and little to no power when driving up hill. We tried to replace the car the first day BUT they dind't have any others available. So on the third day (driving between rethimon and Chania) our car broke down in the middle of the mountains. In the end they tried to get us to pay for the bad and failing engine. DON'T BOOK HERE!!
L	Laura on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Never again !! Not recommended!! They picked us up at the airport, but that’s when the good service ended. The lady at the caldera car rental was unfriendly and absolutely unmotivated. She tried to give us a smaller car than we paid for. A tiny one where we could have never fit 4 people with luggage! After we insisted She gave us a Peugeot 301. This one was according to our booking. But the car was in very bad condition outside and inside. Scratches all over, the car seat was ripped open, no gas, no windshield wiper fluid and later we found out that the back lights only partly worked. The half automatic gear is very difficult to handle especially with Cretan road conditions. So all in all it was cheap but a lot of trouble!!!

Caldera could have known that our flight was delayed because they have the flight number. Moreover, as we arrived with our baby and the car was available, Caldera did not want to rent it to us while the car was paid for already. In summary, I strongly recommend hiring at a more professional and friendly car rental.

They charge whatever you are able to negotiate - it’s a fee/ bribery for the office operator!!!! We rented car in Crete, Isabelle the office operator was super nice at the beginning but at the car return everything changed. Scam!!!!
