★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed in the villa patricia in July 2013. This traditional villa is located in the village of Vourvoulos, maybe 4 kms from fira away from the mad tourist rush that is usual during the summer months in Santorini. It has been painstakingly restored from its previously ruined status in the early 90s by the owners and has been well documented in an album kept in the villa. The results are pleasing and gives a feel of the traditional Cycladean architecture. It is spacious and well equipped with a large open living area in the front with a barbecue. Dimitris (the owner's husband)had met us at the bus stop in Fira and had given us a welcome ride home, much appreciated. The beach of Vourvoulos is about a kilometer away and is quiet most of the time - ideal for solitude seekers. Dimitris had also arranged a car for us which is a must to see the island and to shop in the markets of Fira nearby. There are some good tavernas nearby. The taverna Roza nearby is a gem with some of the best home cooked Greek food we had during our trip. We had a beautiful holiday, thanks to Patricia and Dimitris. We hope to come back again someday.
