Amazing location, it's part of the mountain to go a little uncomfortable but you will find a wonderful little small monastery in my opinion if you have time to go otherwise the road is difficult to go and you may be disappointed if you are not religious tourism on the same road if decide to go has other monasteries to visit with this logic you can eat a three hour for visits to the monasteries. Also photos inside are prohibited for this there is only outdoor.

The monastery is nice, but the monk is a bit rude. He barely speaks English and shouts "Close, Close!" We have visited the monasteries in this area (which are quite a few) and in all of them they have welcomed us with a smile (even in one they offered us typical food) and they have let us see the monastery / church quietly EXCEPT FOR THIS. You have to enter with your legs and arms covered (there are some orange blankets at the entrance so you can cover yourself). He doesn't let you take pictures inside the church and if you want to put a candle, he won't let you light it (he says he lights it tomorrow but there aren't any used / spent candles there ...). It forces you to put your phone away as you enter the venue. The schedule in the afternoon is from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Remarkable monastery of the 17th century in a verdant environment. Nice temple and exterior fortress architecture. In operation.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beauty monastery with baby cats. But according to the priest you have to look the church first. If you knee down to cuddle the cats he gets angry shut the door and says: only cat - no church. Stupid guy. Maybe thats the reason for spending his live alone. Good luck

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A secluded monastery that is definitely worth paying a visit (follow the decent automobile road from Skopelos town). On a sizzling-hot day, time appears to have stopped there. The place is run by the most peculiar monk, pity he does not allow his picture to be taken.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Super peaceful, small monastery up in the mountains. The small church is really amazing with old artifacts and stuff. There was just this ONE monk who was there when we came, old guy who didn't speak English too well, and spoke quietly and briefly... really strange but nice guy!!! You can buy souvenirs and stuff too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Realy beautiful monastery with a realy nice church and a floor build of hundreds of little single stones. The monk opend the door for us after looking arround and after we asked if taking a picture is allowed outside.
Very nice building and plant, of course taking pictures inside of the church is not allowed.... Yes he is hard to understand but he helped when needed (unlocked the door) and stayed in the background (while we where looking arround).
We also spend some money for the church and get some traditional sweets when leaving.
Take the chance and walk a while on the path left of the monastery, nice view and beautiful landscape
