★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful sandy beach with crystal clear water in a stunning location.
Set in a scenic bay, with mountains running down to left and right .
A choice of 4 or 5 really good restaurants/cafes makes for a very enjoyable experience.
I would prefer this beach to the much recommended larger beaches in Western Crete, way more atmosphere and better located facilities.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mistrali restaurant is a great place to base yourself on the beach. Good food and drinks and very friendly and helpful staff. Sun beds are good as well. Try it !!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A lovely, clean blue-flagged village beach. Sand is grey, fine, comfortable to tread. We were there both on a calm and a windy day and it was great. Sea beds are free of charge and beach bar prices are reasonable. The sea is clean and warm. There is no seaweed, or fish which is important for my children. Nothing fancy about it, which is charming in itself. There is a big parking place as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A great organized beach to enjoy clear waters during summer. Beach is affected when North, Northwest and West winds blow.
Suitable for families with young kids since waters are shallow and warmer. Great experience!
Umbrellas and sunbeds are free of charge, however at least a coffee to buy should be considered...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great beach, sandy, clean, plenty of space, calm sea within a closed bay, lots of shops, restaurants and coffee shops directly on the beach. Only thing is that part of the road is currently under construction and it looks a bit ugly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent beach with many foodie attractions in the shape of restaurants. The beach shoals gently so it's safe for children and there are lifeguards in attendance. Behind the beach are shops that cater for fresh fruit and various breads along with delicious vegetables. Free parking near the harbour. Easily worth spending a day here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Clean and sandy, bay very calm / sheltered so good for swimming. Numerous bars for food and drink etc.. not too crowded. It's possible to walk between Kalives and Almyrida without too much travel on the main roads, it's very hilly but only takes 40 mins use the route on foot via Google maps.
