Fresh Calamar! Fresh Octopus! Best tomato balls of dear Katina's traditional recipe ? Giorgos was the most friendly person we have met in Santorini! This place is the oldest tavern in Oia at Amoudi Bay. Katina is the grandma of this family! She sits at the balcony and we had a chance to meet with her. She gave me the recipe for tomato ball and warmly huged us! This place is our favorite ?

Katina is a living legend of the food history of Santorini. The tavern is next to the sea offering a majestic atmosphere during all day. However, I cannot give more than 3 stars to Katina tavern. The food was ok but the excitement is not there any more: the tomato balls were tasty and crunchy but not the best in the island anymore; the fava dish was flavorless missing salt and taste; the fish was fresh and well-fried but still not something special. With these prices there is hardly any value for money any more. I would still recommend the tavern for its view and for being in beautiful Ammoudi but those choosing it shouldn’t have great expectations.

Clean. Staff extremely friendly. The food is amazing and freshly prepared with extremely wholesome flavors and well seasoned. The fish was perfectly cooked and the lobster amazing. Pasta so good you can eat by itself and the cocktails perfectly prepared. The scenery is also perfect. Cheers

Absolutely perfect in every way. Maybe the best traditional taverna in Greece with a setting that cannot be beat. Superb salads and starters. — don’t miss the tomato balls. Excellent and fairly priced fresh fish and seafood. A few other items as well but why bother. Wonderful selection of local wines. Family run for decades in the best of ways. Katina is always there to greet and watch over it all. Enjoy!!

Come for the fresh seafood. We really enjoyed the taramousalada and the fresh grilled octopus. It also has beautiful views! In the evenings it gets really packed and is hard to get a seaside table. As it's just off Oia, you will however pay a premium price. Still, worth a once off treat!

I had the best evening here everyone was so kind and the food was wonderful and the view was amazing as well! They didn’t mind that I take my time, they let me go into the kitchen and pick up my seafood! I especially loved the Santorini salad the baklava and the lobster. I also got to wear one of mama katinas shawls she made which was so cozy as it got a little breezy. Definitely worth the long stairs down and don’t be worried you can catch a taxi back up or ride donkeys back up if you don’t wanna walk all the way. Thank you for the great evening!

The best place for lunch on Santorini Island. The fish is as fresh as it can be and perfectly grilled. The good house wine is completing the simple but perfect experience. We are going there at least since ten years and the good thing is they never changed. Not to forget the friendly staff. Some of them also work there since years and make it a sort of homecoming when we spend some hours at this lovely place. Thank you Katina family.

Amazing place for seafood with great views. Had one of the best tomato salad ? very fresh and crunchy and the BEST grilled octopus which was perfectly grilled with the right hint of char. Awesome. Better to avoid peak hours as the road leading here is real narrow and jam packed with rental cars and tour vans making it hard to get out.
