★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Frequent visits to the historical Kipos Café, situated in the heart of the peaceful Municipality Gardens in Chania, have been one of the highlights of our visit to the stunningly beautiful island of Crete. So refreshing to find a quiet haven away from the traffic and noise associated with any busy metropolis - made even more pleasant to not have your senses assaulted by the incessant sights and sounds of the mind-numbing, tourist traps, mostly situated in the Old Town, much of which has been irretrievably spoilt, pandering to the masses!
A varied menu is offered, good quality coffee and good value too - served by Dimitris and his friendly colleagues. Such a lovely place to while away an hour or so.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Images from another Era. Excellent service, fine Greek coffee prepared and served the traditional way. A serene garden offers refuge. In some instances kids, and their indifferent parents, make havoc. When chased out the place becomes exquisite. When in Chania you must visit it. Best time is midday. Also in a rainy day. It will transport you in yesteryear. Note: the cafe has a twin brother (or sister) in Vienna!

Very suitable with children because they have somewhere to run around and play.
The place is famous for the coffee they make the same way as far as I understand for a hundred years.
The coffee was delicious with a strong aroma and also the food was very tasty.
The staff gave us great service
And you can even play backgammon while you enjoy your coffee ?
