Krits Hotel - Hersonissos Port

Excellent hotel, excellent service. Great value...

It's a nice, clean, quiet place next to the beach and the entertainment center of Hersonissos with a 5 star hospitality at a very reasonable cost. I am definitely recommending it. There are also extra comforts for business travelers like we are.

In July I took my three teenage children on our annual summer holiday to Krits Hotel in the vibrant seaside resort Hersonissos. I used Crete Taxis to transfer from Heraklion Airport, the fare was about €35. It was a very late arrival, but Mr Edmond was waiting to greet us. We stayed in a family room which had two adjoined beds in one room with TV, two single beds in the entry room with double doors onto the balcony with a sea view, and small, light and airy bathroom with shower. A basket of fruit was a nice welcoming touch. There was a heatwave so we paid for a week of air conditioning at €15 which offered a welcome relief from the balmy nights. Breakfast buffet and evening meal was served in the dining room with most diners eating poolside. Each evening a different selection of delicious dishes of local food and fresh salad offered something for everyone. There was always home-grown olives and fresh home-made hummus available. Reasonably priced local wine and beer could be bought at the poolside bar, manned by the lovely, sociable and helpful Manolis, who also makes a mean cocktail. From Krits Hotel it's a short walk to the supermarket, shopping strip and string of beach coves, filled with rental loungers and umbrellas. There's loads of activities:- we loved the little road-train trip which was a bit of a sightseeing mystery tour, a boat trip with BBQ and snorkelling, watersports, and Greek dancing - all highly recommended. It was tough finding time to lounge by the pool enjoying one of Manolis's Mojitos! What I loved about Krits was how it is run as a welcoming family hotel; Dr Critsotakis makes each family feel valued and is on hand to make sure your holiday runs to perfection. But it was the lovely Lena who gets our vote for the best ever holiday facilitator, she answered all our questions fully and gave us all the extra touches we needed to make our holiday complete, efficiently and in an unassuming way, Lena went above and beyond to make our holiday special. My family voted our Cretan holiday our best ever summer holiday. Thanks to all the wonderful staff.

I can not remember when last time I spent such a wonderful holiday! Hotel Krits is wonderful place for everybody! Only 10, 15 minutes by walk to the center of Hersonissos. Unlike hotels in the center of Hersonissos, hotel Krits is in a quiet area where you can enjoy the silence. On the other side, in the vicinity of the hotel there are few nice beaches interesting not only for adults but also for children! In the hotel there are spacious apartments with nice view on the sea. In front of the hotel is a garden with the bar and swimming pool. It is said that beauty of some place is beauty of persons you can meet there. Having this in mind I was lucky because I met wonderful barman Nikos who is more than ordinary barman! I will always remember his kindness. Thanks to him I got many information concerning Crete, its inhabitants, customes... At the reception you can meet Maria, also wonderful person! All in all I warmly recommend this hotel!

Nice hotel, walking distance to the beach and the main streets, plenty of shops, bars and restaurants around, very comfortable. Staff is super nice and helpful, food is ok, thanks!

It was a very nice stay here. The food was delicious, the rooms very clean and the people there were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay so much and can't wait to come back ?

Hotel staff was very rude. When arrived at hotel no customer service just checked is in. Let us carry our own suitcases upstairs to the rooms was not offered any help! There was only 1 member off staff on duty which was the guy on the reception did not give us any info wat so ever. Went to rooms very hot no air cons wer on could not find remotes. No pillows to sleep on for kids they gave us very bad cots which dey call. Wid no matress on there hard as anything. You could not call at reception phones wer not working, went downstairs reception gone home nobody there. Food is horrible hygiene is very bad. They hide food from customers amd give to staff to eat. The cook secretly haves alcohol in his cofee. The place is just dead. Would never go back der again. I have alot yo say about this hotel alot.

Hotelroom was clean (and cleaned daily) Frequently clean sheets and towels. Hotel is close to everything you need. Very friendly and helpful staff. Our initial room had a broken shower which flooded the room, we got a new room which even had a better (sea) view and was bigger so a very good and adequate solution. Breakfast got a bit dull after a week, our only tip would be to change the menu a bit during the week. A egg can, baked, scrambled next to being boiled. A different kind of fruit each other day would also upgrade the breakfast. Late check out (after 11:00) was also possible without extra pay. <- great service ? Would stay here again.
