Who travels on tours / tours: do not listen to representatives of travel agents who like to intimidate tourists, so that they acquire additional services through their firms. This is me to the fact that right in front of the hotel there is a good car rental. They took a normal car from them without imposing unnecessary insurance and other things. The owner even helped to park when they came late in the evening, and at the end of the rental period, he forgave a couple of dollars for a dirty car (yes, the joint was not washed, but stupidly). The hotel itself certainly needs renovation, but in general everything is fine, especially if you come to rest, and not sit in the room. I am glad that they did not live in our hotel, but ran past. BUT! Very nice staff at the hotel! Warmly welcomed, fed by 8 am. The host prepares breakfast himself. He will tell everything, only in English. Then another Russian-speaking employee, Irina, came. A very nice woman. He will tell everything, show everything. Will advise where to go. He will offer you tours at mega favorable prices and car rental. Don't get fooled! These excursions can be bought much cheaper with lunch from travel agencies in Chersonesos, for example. And the car that we took through it turned out to be a wreck for 35 euros x 3 days. We tried to get our money back for the remaining 2 days, but we were refused. They offered a car of a better class and said that in order to terminate the contract with them, you have to pay 60 euros. To my question, show me where it is written, stopped communicating. At the hotel with me were only people from Russia, although there are few Russian speakers in the city. And the Greeks themselves hardly speak Russian. Near the hotel there are cafes, shops. Wifi in the room almost does not catch, at the reception a great signal. Irina will always tell you how, where to get to, what you can see in Crete. From Malia, we took a bus to Agios Nikolaos, to Heraklion, to Rethymno. I advise you to read in detail about the features of movement on the bus or ask Irina. About breakfast: modest, yes, but we have never been hungry. In a cafe, eat for two to the dump and take the rest with you an average of 23 euros. By the way, I advise you to eat in a cafe in the old town, the food is much tastier and not tailored to the tastes of European teenagers. Back to the hotel. As for Malia, this is a very rave town, but it’s not a hindrance for families with children and older people, on the contrary, it was much more fun for us. I recommend both the hotel and the city !!!
