★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I could upload a thousand photos but none would be able to give you the feeling of walking the same alleys that our ancestors walked on approx 3700 years ago.
Just go late in the afternoon as the sun during the summer time is unforgiving.

So well preserved.
Staff are all very knowledgeable.
It is such an interesting culture ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Much better than knossos, this time you will not walk around concrete. The entrance is 8€ that is totally over price, especially after the fact they close some section. Still cheaper and the view is beautiful. You can see the whole valley from the ancient palace. Look inside you can also find a guide to get more explanation of the site.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I would recommend to check this place out, if you like history or archaeology.
To me, it's by far more worth than Knossos because of the size, better sign and organize, layout and landscape. You can feel it more genuine (compare to Knossos).
This place is a bit far from Heraklion, therefore the best way to reach might be by Taxi or rental car with around 1 hour 15 minutes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you like history this is a must see on Crete, an enormous complex where you can actually walk between the walls of this historical palace. One friendly advice, there is not much shade so try to plan your visit when it is not so hot. We were here around 26 degrees and some wind so perfect day ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This palace is a tad bit smaller than the palace of Knossos, but I personally felt that the structure was relatively more intact, so one could easily imagine the grand walls and room when there. It's a great place to learn more about the Minoan culture and civilisation.
Additionally, it's at a hilltop, so the view of the surroundings is magnificent. You could easily imagine why one would construct a palace there.
Also, we found some very social and friendly cats there, and that was like the cherry on top of the cake :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We are not specially fans of archaeological museums, but this one was really nice. It showed a lot of different parts of the old palast. However, we are giving just 4 stars, because for us there was a big map missing which would give an overview.
