A really impressive monastery hanging from the cliff...a 10-15 minute walk from the car parking, closes at 13:00.

Well worth the visit. Fantastic drive there and a wonder to behold when you first set your eyes on the @monestry. Respect to the monks dedication and duty.

Very nice Monastery and very friendly monks. There is an option for a beautiful hike to the Filosofou Moni which takes 45 minutes, half of the way is going down to the river and the second half is climbing to the Moni, which was not easy to our kids. The path is beautiful especially near the Lucius river, most of the path is shaded but hard walking.

Unbelievable experience and a very spectacular sight. Moni Agiou Ioannou Prodromou is a monastery glued against the canyan walls of the Loussios gorge. The monastery dates from the 12th century. It is one of the most spectacular sites along the Loussios gorge.

This place was quite breathtaking! There is a.long walk from where you park your car, you should wear the sports shoes or hiking shoes as there rocks and slippery ground. During the summer months the use of a hat is also a good idea.

The monastery was a 15-minute walk from the parking lot through a beautiful woodland path. No shorts / short skirts are allowed to enter the monastery, however clean, spare fabrics are provided for that purpose. The monastery is built on the cliff wall and we visited the interior - the view was amazing! The monks were very friendly and offered us fresh Greek coffee, water and a dessert called loukoumia - true representatives of Greek hospitality! We bought some handmade soap to support them, such a lovely visit. :)
