G	Gerasimos Vardaramatos on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Στην αρχή της διαδρομής, εκεί που στρίβεις από τον κεντρικό δρόμο και ακολουθείς την πορεία που υποδεικνύει η πινακίδα "Ιερά Μονή Υπεραγίας Θεοτόκου Αυτού", αισθάνεσαι ότι θα είναι δύσκολη η ανάβαση. Ο δρόμος στην αρχή τσιμεντένιος και μετά χωμάτινος. Σε κάποιο σημείο στενεύει λίγο ο δρόμος και θα καλεστείς να περάσεις κάποιες πολύ απότομες στροφές. Η απόσταση από τον κεντρικό δρόμο μέχρι το μοναστήρι είναι περίπου 10χλμ. Ιδανικό όχημα το 4χ4 αλλά δεν είναι και δύσκολο για έμπειρους οδηγούς αυτοκινήτων πόλης να τον διασχίσουν. Μετά από αυτή την σκληρή εισαγωγή και ίσως αποτρεπτική για κάποιους λόγω φόβου, έρχεται και η δικαίωση όσων τολμήσουν. Η πρώτη εικόνα σαγηνευτική. Μπαίνοντας από το κεντρικό πορτονι βλέπεις στα αριστερά το ηγουμενείο και στα δεξιά τον "πύργο", πιο δεξιά την εκκλησία και αμέσως μετά τους κοιτώνες. Όλα αναπαλαιωμένα κτήρια με ιδιαίτερη έμφαση και προσοχή στη διατήρηση της παλαιότητας του μοναστηριού. Οι δύο μοναχοί έχουν κάνει άριστο έργο και διατηρούν όλο αυτό το μεγαλείο της θρησκείας μας σε επίπεδο που ξεπερνά κάθε προσδοκία. Πραγματικά στον τόπο αυτό ήρθε η Θεία Πρόνοια και ευλόγησε με την παρουσία των δύο αυτών θεόσταλτων ανθρώπων. Η καλοσύνη τους και η φιλοξενία τους μοναδική. Η διδασκαλία τους το κάτι άλλο. Αξίζει ο κόπος, τα χιλιόμετρα και οποία τυχόν ταλαιπωρία προς το μοναστήρι. The distance from the main road to the monastery is about 10km. An ideal 4x4 vehicle but not difficult for experienced city car drivers to cross. Entering from the central door you can see on the left the abbey and on the right the "tower", on the right the church and immediately after the dormitories. The two monks have done an excellent job and maintain all of the greatness of our religion at a level that exceeds any expectation. K	Katarzyna Pasternak on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wejście na górę jest dosyć trudne, zwłaszcza ze względu na fakt iż przez połowę trasy (około 7 km) droga jest nasłoneczniona i przy wysokiej temperaturze łatwo się odwodnić, dlatego polecam wziąć ze sobą dużo wody, krem z filtrem i czapkę na głowę. Trasa jest ciężka i odpowiednie buty również będą atutem. Kolejnym minusem jest fakt, że jeżeli się idzie pieszo od Poros trzeba przejść odcinek ok 1,5 km szosą, przy której nie ma chodnika. Jeżeli chodzi o wjazd samochodem, to ze względu na duże nachylenie oraz strome zakręty i nierówności na drodze, może być to ciężkie lub wręcz niemożliwe. Jednakże to też zależy od samochodu, samochody terenowe i z wyższym nadwoziem powinny dać radę, jednakże nie polecam wjeżdżać wypożyczonym samochodem. Widoki po drodze są bardzo ładne. Na szczycie znajduje się klasztor, gdzie mając szczęście można zostać wpuszczonym na najwyższy punkt widokowy z krzyżem oraz posłuchać historii tego miejsca. Polecam! The route is difficult and appropriate shoes will also be an advantage. Another downside is the fact that if you walk on foot from Poros you have to walk a section of about 1.5 km along the road with no pavement. When it comes to entering by car, it may be difficult or even impossible due to the large slope and steep bends and unevenness on the road. However, it also depends on the car, off-road cars and with a higher body should do the trick, however, I do not recommend using a rented car. The views along the way are very nice. At the top there is a monastery, where, fortunately, you can be admitted to the highest vantage point with a cross and listen to the history of this place. I would recommend!

Θεωρείται το αρχαιότερο μοναστήρι της νήσου. Ήκμασε κατά τον 8ο αιώνα μ.Χ αποτελώντας μεγάλη μοναστική κοινότητα ενώ αξίζει να σημειωθεί πως εδώ μόνασε ο Ηγούμενος Όσιος Κλήμης Φωκάς κατά τα τέλη του 19ου αιώνα. Μπορείτε να δείτε τον Μεσαιωνικό Πύργο, το παλαιό Αρχονταρίκι και το καθολικό της Μονής, ενώ επιβλητικά δεσπόζει ένα νεότερο Αρχονταρίκι "κλέβοντας" την πρώτη ματιά του επισκέπτη! Η Μονή πανηγυρίζει στις 9 Σεπτεμβρίου τη Γέννηση της Θεοτόκου! Η απόσταση της Μονής από τον δρόμο Τζανάτα - Πόρος είναι περίπου 7 χλμ χωματόδρομος με διαδοχικά ζικ ζακ μέσα από ψηλά πουρνάρια και σκίνα με πυκνή βλάστηση. Η γαλήνη που θα νοιώσετε από την ιερότητα του χώρου & η θέα από τη Μονή θα σας ανταμείψουν για την τόλμη σας να φτάσετε έως εκεί!!!
