Best Ferry service in Greece

Nous avons acheté nos billets à l'entrée des gorges de Samaria pour rejoindre sougia en bateau avec un départ à 17H A notre arrivée à agia roumeli, aucun panneau nous indiquait qu'il fallait prendre le bateau non pas dans le village mais 300 m plus loin. Résultat: Nous avons patienté tout l'après midi sur la plage et nous nous sommes présenté sur le quai vers 16h30. A l'embarquement, on nous a signalé que ce n'était notre bateau, le notre étant au bout de la plage. Nous avons couru sur la plage avec un autre couple pour rejoindre le bateau. Celui ci quittait le quai malgré nos signes de la main. Vu la fumée noire et la pollution qui se dégageait de la cheminée du bateau nous pensons que le bateau n'était pas tout jeune. Nous avons du acheter dans l'urgence de nouveaux billets pour embarquer sur le bateau du quai. Very bad experience. The price was quite low, but I'd rather pay more for better conditions. First of all, the ferry starts from the point about 600 m further from the ferry in Agia Roumeli. It's about 10 min. walk . But the most important is that the boat is old,small so You feel waves much more, and it smokes a lot. Prepare for 1 hour waves with diesel smoke around, no matter where are You on the boat. This should be forbidden. It's much better to go by Main ferry in Agia Roumeli and buy ticket in Agia Roumeli when You get there after Samaria Gorge. But no worry, You will make it by this ferry, and we were on time just like the main ferry, but it was very uncomfortable. Take something to cover Your face.

At the top of the Samaria gorge they will tell you you have to buy the boat tickets there rather then down at the village and everyone including me assumed it was for the ferry. But the boat is not good and the ticket price is a lot more expensive then the ferry so it’s no good. Feels very much like a scam

The boat might be old, not the fastest and a little shaky, but the experience was enjoyable and a little wind blew away any exhaust fumes that other reviewers were talking about. If it had not been for the aggressive marketing at the entrance of Samaria gorge, I would have given 4 stars.
