Restaurant super. Rooms simple and clean. Beach quiet and the water is crystal clear. Very very friendly people.

Incredible hospitality, quality, simplicity, the best locally sourced/traditional/family owned food and atmosphere. So quiet, relaxing and inviting. The essence of Crete. Highly recommended.

A wonderful little place a short hike from the more touristy Loutro. Definitely worth the half hour walk, which is lovely in itself. The food here is amazing, there is no menu and everything is fresh as is available. The staff are lovely, the views are amazing, and you can have a wonderful sea swim in peace before and after your meal. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area

Lovely seafront hotel in a quiet and beautiful bay. The owner has a herd of goats for best meat, they produce their own delicious feta cheese in a fresh cave, they harvest their small vegetable garden behind the hotel ... all this to offer you simple but yummy good fresh cretan plates. After a few days, one can particularly taste and feel how this kind of local food harmonizes well together in this location. Take your time. Simplicity is the thing. If you'd like to support this beautiful and rare example of true local economy, you won't be deceived. The hotel itself is nicely structured, has a wide terrace with pergola. From the rooms you enjoy the play of the sea. The owners are very kind as well, and one of them speaks best Irish :-)

100% a small paradise. No menu, just whatever is fresh that day. We had feta that they make in house and a delicious goat stew. Set on an absolutely gorgeous secluded beach. I didn’t want to leave!

Second visit reaffirms this as the place of greek pace in the village. There will be one dish of the day...today it was moussaka...a sublime "eton mess" fresh put of the oven...how did i manage to get this and their monumental greek salad in? Go there and find out. Hospitality has become a word of affliction for those of us who toil(ed) under its weight. But it's a wind beneath the wings of this place, long before Bette Middler warbler the words. The host of this remote outpost welcomed me, like I'd been there 10 times before. No fanfare, just a familiar greeting. I could have asked for a menu, but instead I did the "when Harry met Sally", and asked for these tasty little pockets of local greens I'd seen growing as I walked in, then being devoured by the owner and his mates as I entered. They were everything I hoped to top it off, unlike almost every taverna in the area, paying a humble €3 by card was no more effort than a friendly farewell. Hospo is all the better for their carriage.

This week was the fifth time in forty years that I was a guest at Nikos Restaurant. Of course the place has changed and is not the same as in 1982. But the hospitality and cordiality of the people has remained. Even though it had been six years since I had last been here, I was recognized. That’s like coming home. It will not take another six years before I get back.
