Hotel Porto Loutro on the beach - Σφακίων

Peaceful atmosphere, fabulous views, good food, fine service

Amazing food and incredible views over Loutro. The staff are Very friendly and attentive. Well worth a visit when in Loutro.

Acceptable standard of accommodation. One member of staff was rude with annoying attitude. Location not suitable for older people as is on top of a hill and with long steep stairs to climb to reach rooms. The views from this hotel are stunning. First thing in the morning found a dead rat outside the veranda door. There will be no next time for us to this hotel.

By far the Best hotel in Loutro. Unique spot. Excellent food

The hotel and rooms are beautiful, loutro is beautiful, the staff was nice, especially the boat and sunbed guy. But: in the rooms you can hear so much noise from the other rooms/furniture being moved around during cleaning, I have never heard anything like this. Loutro has no cars yes, so it's "quit" but there are no locals living there doing something else than tourism so it's really a tourist trap for white and wealthy people. Not charming. Two tiles came off in the bathroom while I stayed there and the smell in the room was like being in an old, humid house. Last but not least I asked for a receipt when I paid. That wasn't possible. They would send it per email. I reminded them per email. Still no receipt. This is not even legal. I noticed that the owner answers people who rate this hotel like me in a rude way so I am expecting a rude answer. Yes I stayed there. One night. I was supposed to stay 3 nights but being with lots of other tourists in a very small place is everything and listening to extreme noise from other rooms is everything but relaxing for me.

The view was incredible, very clean rooms and fantastic hospitality. All staff were very friendly and helpful. We loved that they have a huge library of books to choose from and RELAX. Khalid that works just outside at the bar/watsports rental hut is wonderful helpful, and works his butt off! I haven't seen that level of hustle, and "get it done" behavior in a very long time. Overall, we absolutely will come back here, hoprfully very soon.

This hotel is a gem, right on the sea front of Loutro. I’ve enjoyed a Superb, week long break at this lovely hotel. Spotlessly clean and comfortable rooms. Friendly, helpful staff. This hotel is literally ‘on the beach’ . All rooms have a sea view, I fell asleep each night to the sounds of the waves lapping onto the pebble beach and the sounds of goats and goat bells on the hills behind the hotel. The owner is on site daily and ‘gets’ hospitality… I loved the ‘no phones or computers’ rule in the bar area….. If you are less mobile, then the second storey rooms are up / down a steep flight of steps…make sure you have a Greek coffee after your ouzo in the numerous tavernas (that are just minutes away). I’d forgotten my mosquito machine (the one where you insert a tablet and then plug in), Allison, the owner, lent me one, so remember to pack yours! I’ll be back again.
