On the Cliff, Suites - Ipapantis

We came to santorini for our honeymoon with my husband. We enjoyed the hotel and the staff was very nice and friendly. The breakfast has many choices and they served only fresh fruit.Sophia also gave us a bottle of wine to celebrate of honeumoon!

All staff exceptionally nice and work hard. Very clean, great view, good bed, good shower, good location. No big pool but individual whirlpool warm water pools. No drawers for clothing.

This review isn't about the hotel. It's about The restaurant which is absolutely disappointing. The octopus 1/5 should be regretting that someone has killed him to do that carpaccio and charge 15 € for 3 mini portions. Pizza 2/5 just average. There are many other places in the island that charge the same for eating properly...

The room was really comfortable and super clean. The view is amazing and the breakfast as well. Everyone was very profesional and especially Sophia made our stay even better. We are definitely going back!

My partner and I spent 4 nights at On the Cliff on a getaway trip. I made the booking based on the location and description of the room. We ended up choosing to spend a little more to reserve a room with distinct layout and amenities. The website of On the Cliff led me to believe we would be booked into the exact room depicted, as each unit description is unique and the reservation title includes a unique room letter code. More on that later. When we arrived to the address, there was a sign with the hotel name but no clear instructions or directions to find check-in. We looked and waited and no one was around. After throwing hands in the air and asking at the bar next door, turns out the managers run the check-in desk out of a broom closet and the bar. Who knew?! It was disorganized, unprofessional, and not welcoming. We got checked in and were shown to our room in the new building up the hill. This was fine for us as we had no luggage to carry and don’t mind the walk, but if you don’t want to do steps it might not be a good fit for you. Breakfast is also served at the bar/restaurant so you’ll be back and forth. We get to the room and it’s not anything close to the one I was expecting. I was disappointed upon walking in, but tried to shake it off as we planned on spending most of our time outside of the hotel enjoying the island. Not only were the layout and decor very different, but the terrace entrance and private hot tub were anything BUT private (more privacy was something I had been selecting for at booking). It was a „highway“ straight through our unit for the guests all around us. The room was clean and the view of the caldera was great. During our stay, we had the pleasure of hearing from and about the dissatisfaction of 3 separate parties staying around us. They all ended up raising concerns about the quality of their rooms not meeting expectations to the manager and were moved to other units. I am regretful for not doing the same, given my disappointment. Lesson learned. Housekeeping was good. Breakfast was good and the ample portions and variety were not expected but enjoyed. Staff was surly at best. Hot tub wasn’t hot. Bottom line, the best part of this stay was the view. The rest wasn’t worth the price to me. I would recommend doing research to ensure the “luxury” experience will be what you expect. There are lots of options and I don’t believe there is a bad caldera view in Thira to be had.

Is awesome places right in the heart of Fira with stunning views from front of the room rather inside of room also has good view. Decent size clean and neat room. Offer very good breakfast with plenty of option but since we are vegetarian, we couldn't try all but good size breakfast with real fresh juice. Hot Tub water is maintained at good temp and view from Hottub is cherry on the top. Worth a spend...

Our experience in this hotel was fantastic! We were 2 friends and we loved the hotel, the location, the breakfast and the most important the people. Everyone was very attentive from the receptionist to cleaners, barista etc.. We received such a great treatment from everyone , especially we would like to thank Sofia for helping us book everything, our transportation and our excursions on the island! Definitely above our expectations!

Wow! This was the most hospitable/ beautiful place I've ever stayed. The staff was amazing, kind, and generous with suggestions. It was so nice getting to know them on a “personal” level. Coming from Paris where the locals were nasty to us this was the best possible end to our honeymoon. Alex served us delicious drinks and the breakfast (included in our stay) was so amazingly delicious! Never in my life have I seen such great food included in our stay. Sofia checked us in and gifted us a bottle of roses to celebrate our honeymoon ?. She wasted no time helping us book excursions on our short trip to Santorini. The sunset views were perfect. Even though it was cold, we went in the hot tub... Ask them to turn it up as it was magical to enjoy the sunset in the jacuzzi with a bottle of wine. We will be returning in 6 months or so to experience all Santorini has to offer in the summer and we will def be staying here again. Kinda sad to have to say goodbye to our friends (the staff) after only a few days but we will return. Thank you for making out honeymoon just that much more perfect!
