★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Palace of Saints Michael and George, a neoclassical, Regency style building, entirely constructed of Maltese stone, was built in the 19th century, during the English rule period in Ionian islands. In 1864, after the Reunification of in the Ionian Islands with Greece, the Palace was appropriated by the Hellenic state and since 1928 houses the Museum of Asian Art.
The Corfu Museum of Asian Art occupies the largest part of the Palace. It is the only museum dedicated to Asian art and antiquities Greece and its collection consists of approximately 15.000 artefacts. [Tourist information]

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Neo-classical palace build by the English in the 19th century. Quite interesting history behind the building which also served as residence for the Greek royal family and the location of a recent EU summit. Now housing the museum of Asian Art and a number of rooms for temporary exhibitions The museum is reviewed separately but the building itself is also worth the visit, especially the room with the dome. The gardens can be visited for free and have some amazing views on the old Fortress, Faliriki and Vidos island.
