The best thing by far is the location - right next to the harbor and in the middle of the old town with plenty of things to see and do. The service was excellent, the breakfast well made - make sure you try the cretan pies that are served during breakfast. Rooms are nice, with a fair bit of character and some balconies have a view of the harbour. There is no parking because of the location, but it wasn't an issue as there is free parking nearby at the Talos public square.

Even before wr arrived the hotel called to make sure that we know how to get to the closest parking (it is on a pedestrian street in the historic center). As we arrived, they instructed us on how to find the hotel (not the closest way, but the better one for the suitcases). The room was nice, had a good, comfortable bed and all amenities in the bathroom. There was complimentary water and raki. The room was perfectly cleaned every day!!! Last but not least, the breakfast was served in the restaurant next to the hotel. The food was very delicious and the service was great.

The staff were polite and helpful and catered to our every need. The room was quiet even though the hotel is located in the heart of the old harbour.

In the old Venetian town and the Venetian port of Chania, raised reasserting his Venetian palace “Palazzo del Duca”, the building designed by the Ministry of Culture as a historic monument paramount. The story begins in the early Byzantine period as a pottery workshop. At Venetian converted into luxurious residence of the Duke of town. In the Ottoman period are some interventions and added a floor. The last hundred years, used as a residence by a wealthy family of Chania, Ottomans, Jews and Greeks. Worn by time and damaged by bombs of the Second World War, he was ready to collapse. In this mighty critical moment in history, decided to intervene as a small family business. The reconstruction held retained all of its original architectural elements so the building does not differ from that era and combines in a unique way in the past with the present. However, owner the host is very friendly and helpful and gave me the best hospitality ever.

Old vintage style rooms, but everything comfy. The ‘sofa bed’ isn’t really a sofa though, it’s some sort of thing you extend to make into a bed.
