This is a very good hotel. I've been in a few on Crete and so far this one is the best. It doesn't have it's own beach nearby, but hotel proposes a shuttle to the beach for a small price. But there's a swimming pool at the territory so you can definitely sunbathe and swim directly on the hotel's territory. Pela Mare stands on a hill, that's why the view, especially in the evening is incredible. Rooms are very clean, nicely decorated. What I appreciated is that each room had a free anti-mosquito tool which you could plug. And if you're staying here, definitely try their dinners. The chef is incredible in the restaurant. Food was extremely delicious and was exceeding our expectations. And of course the staff - they were extremely friendly and helpful. They even stayed later to allow us to have a late dinner.

Stunning views over 2 coves from our rooms. Perfectly clean and friendly staff. Ideally need a car for this location as it is on the hillside - (as we have). Not far to the beach and restaurants by car. There is a bus service. Full working fridge in lounge with tea and coffee mKing facilities. Lovely breeze eases the heat of the sun so be careful not to forget the sun tan lotion!

We had an amazing stay at Pela Mare! The rooms are spacious and new and very clean. The views are amazing, but the one thing that made our stay special was the staff. Every single person working there is polite, professional, friendly and they all went above and beyond to make our stay memorable! Pro tip: the water for the pool comes from their own underground spring and is the cleanest I've ever seen!

This was a brilliant hotel for the price. The service especially was faultless - all the staff are so friendly and go the extra mile to make every day a lovely day. The food quality at the hotel is exceptional and for incredibly low prices. The rooms were a decent size and the air con worked well, thankfully as it was much needed. Oh, and the view from the balcony is amazing! It is a bit of a walk down into Agia Pelagia and seems a bit daunting at first because of the hill but honestly isn't as bad as it looks. Furthermore, the supermarket is on the way up and not far from the hotel so it is handy to stop there for a few bits. We visited Socrates restaurant in Agia Pelagia a few times during our stay and would recommend trying it out for dinner (especially the Chicken Gyros) if you are looking for somewhere.

This hotel is 15min walking distance from the beaches down the village up hill but, believe me, it is 300% worth staying there. I am a big traveller and I have seen many places, but here I can tell the staff make a big difference. The place is lovely itself. They have big and comfortable rooms for 4 pax, all the facilities in place and a beautiful swimming pool with stunning views. But Giorgios and co were far and beyond to make our stay even better. They got us a rental car when there were none in the island and at a very good price! So my rate is 10/10. MUCHAS GRACIAS!!

The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. It’s simple village on a cliff in front of the Mediterranean Sea. Beautiful view of the beach and the mountains. The atmosphere is relaxed and quiet though lively. The staff is very welcoming and professional. The food at the restaurant is very good and special.

Best service ever! The view is spectacular. I loved the food and drinks as well. The only downside is that it's far up the mountain and it's far to the beach but bus is available. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

We have stayed at Pela Mare multiple times for long periods of time and can honestly say it's our favourite resort on the island of Crete. The views are phenomenal, the service is the best we have ever had in any hotel...ever. And it is incredibly comfortable for a family holiday. The balcony views are breathtaking and everything about this magical little place starts to feel like home from home. The resort is near many world class beaches, incredible restaurants, and easy access to the highway for lots of sightseeing. Calm and quiet ambiance, palm trees, beach chairs, umbrellas, delicious drinks, clean and inviting pool with a view over the ocean... the most relaxing stay we've had. There is even a smaller splash pool for young children who love to explore the impeccable grounds and lush surroundings. The buffet breakfast is really impressive, and it changes from day to day so you're not getting bored of the menu. The chef is so generous in accommodating different diet needs as well. It's heaven! Thank you to all the staff at Pela Mare who are world class, we can't wait to see you next year!
