β β β β β Not only a good hotel, not only an old experienced mature establishment, but also a great place run by truly warm hearted people who like to become friends with their guests

β β β β β Service is good and everybody is kind but the hotel is the most terrible I visited. If you love to hike a hill to the last room you have and you love to wake up to shouting sheep than good for you. But for me this hotel is just no go.

β β β β β Great place for vacation. Kid friendly. Very quiet and calm. Rooms are simple but extremely clean. Food is really great and varied - each meal plenty of great choices. Small shop near reception with tourist essentials. In front of the hotel there is an bus stop so You can easily reach Rethymno and travel all over Crete. Plenty of small shops around the hotel. To get to beach You need to take a short walk - 100 m. Beach is a little rocky so take shoes and towels. Skaleta beach hotel has a very friendly staff. Reception speaks perfect english and french. Just remember this is amazing ? ? hotel do not be cruel and judge is as ? ? ? ? ? all inclusive grand hotel with golden toilet seats.

β β β β β I had to give 1 star to be able to give this review I didn't want to give it any.
I think I must have gone to another skaleta beach hotel unless everyone else is very very very easily pleased.
Visited here in October 2018 all inclusive BIG mistake
We were supposedly here for a week but after the first night we changed our flights and left Crete to come home.
Unfortunately the first available flight was 3 days later at an extra cost of Β£150.
On our arrival at the hotel we were given a key to a room which was the furthest away from the reception area / dinning and bar. We we're at the very top of the hill with at least 6 flights of steps being the only way to access the room.
We are not spring chickens and both have arthritis in our knees so we asked to change rooms. We was initially was told the hotel was full but within 5 mins they came back with keys to a room on first floor. Talk about out of the frying pan into the fire. It was like a hell hole ( see pics).
The bathroom smelled so bad when the toilet was flushed it just stank of raw sewage
The shower head had to be tied up to the curtain rail otherwise we would have had to hold it while showering.
On the first night we went to the bar we was given the all inclusive drinks menu my god red wine white wine ouzo and raki what a joke.
So we decided to check out local bars but every one of them was shut down and derelict and looked like they had been shut for years.
On the way back to the hotel we decided to call at convenience store and buy a bottle of spirits to drink back at the hotel.
On our return to the hotel I asked the very sour faced lady behind the bar if I could have some ice which she very reluctantly gave me and told me that I couldn't bring drinks in from outside and we would have to drink it in our room.
The next morning we went down for breakfast oh my god
I'm not a fussy eater but food was discussing.
For the next 2 days I ate boiled eggs n rice and something I don't remember the name of it had some sort of meat in well I think it was meat.
Thank god the 3 days were over
Don't think we will be going back to Crete especially the SCALETA
BEACH HOTEL.

β β β β β Its all inclusive but the food is mainly Greek specials, so if you have fussy eaters it's definitely not for you, you can soft drinks through out the day and food at meal times but that's it.
Same with the alcohol you have ouzo, raki and beer free no other spirits.
The hotel it's self is always clean there are alot of stairs to your room and in the heat can be a bit much for elderly or physical disabled, it's also the same to get to the beach the photos are very deceptive GOOGLE STREET VIEW the hotel you'll see what I mean. Reception staff through the day and night are fantastic, friendly, polite, help you as much as they can the majority of the female bar staff however go in the opposite direction.
I'd return to Crete but not at this hotel

β β β β β Spppp, first of all would say every single member of staff was really friendly and helpful here, more so than anywhere I've stayed. The rooms were adequate, but showers tiny and toilets not great as not allowed to put ANY tissue down them so lidless bin provided for this, draw your own picture here. All inclusive food was edible, just, and very limited choice. Although always decent salad. All inclusive drinks (11.00am-10.00pm) were small glass of weak beer, rose or white wine out of pump and in tumbler. Ouzo, raki, or soft drink. Not brilliant. Pool is good, cleaned every day, and sunbeds always available. Small shop for souvenirs, sun cream etc. Everywhere spotless.
