Stayed here for a short break, rooms basic and always kept clean. Lovely small family run business and easy access to the beach, will return am sure.

This holiday was really cheap so we weren't expecting much but we had such a great time. Family owned and run. Rooms were basic but very clean and everything you needed was there. The bar was competitive and we were minutes walk away from a myriad of restaurants, takeaways and bars.

The best place to be. Very kind Greek family and they give you the best time. All you need for a good holiday. Place to sleep, swimming pool, bar, beachbar? and the sea. What else you want????

We stayed in Sofi beach for 1 week. Upon arrival which was very late (around 11pm) we were warmly welcomed by Zack and Maria the owners of this family run hotel. Throughout the week whilst we were lounging by the pool, Zack and Maria would say hello and make conversation. Zack brought around home baked bread for us to try one day. He would shift beach towels from unused sunbeds if we couldn't find a sunbed. Their 3 children do a great job of running the bar and doing the jobs around the hotel. Free Wifi is around the bar and pool area. For the first night I had only 1 pillow and used a bag for a 2nd pillow, the next day the maid had provided another pillow for us both. The room was cleaned & bedding changed almost every day. Only negative was the shower head wouldn't stay on the hook so had to be held, and with no shower curtain water got everywhere. Even though the hotel is by the beach, most of the rooms are side facing and the balcony is small so the view in our case wasn't great - but no need to stay in the room with such a great pool bar area to relax in which you can step out onto the beach. There is a hairdryer, fridge, small hob & toaster. For the price we paid mid August it was a fantastic choice and if we return to Crete we will look to return here again. Zack and Maria are lovely and their two sons & daughter are a credit to them. Yammas :) Steve & Emma (Just copied this from my Trip Advisor)

Surly owner only speaks when you are ordering food at the bar and for some reason chose to continually smash a heavy metal pole into the concrete sides of the pool maintenance pit less than three feet from my head whilst I was lying on sunbed - totally bizarre. When I arrived, I felt completely made up with the location and view from the poolside, however, I soon realised that the only peace to be had was away from the hotel as they choose to play very loud techno disco music of the same pitch and pace continually all day long from soon after 9am; when I asked for the music to be turned down a little while I ate my breakfast at 9.30, I was told a definite "no"; so I started to eat away from the hotel just for a little respite from the monotonous music. I love music and would have happily listened to a decent mix. The hotel owner also demanded 8 euros for a beach sunbed when locals and their friends who are staying in other hotels are allowed to use them for free - absolutely ridiculous when sunbeds are free at almost all other bars and restaurants all along the beach. Otherwise, the staff were very friendly but the hotel owner is a kind of Eeyore come Basil Fawlty figure who does not wear a face mask at all whilst all other bar staff are allowed to wear their face masks continually under their chins - completely pointless. This hotel could be paradise but it is actually a hideous place to stay.

Wonderful family, so friendly and helpful, always smiling. The youngest son christos was the star on the Greek night playing the mandolin and dancing. The whole vibe of sofi beach is welcoming and just what you want on holiday, we are booking for next year

Small family run hotel in a perfect location, right on the beach and though in the centre of the resort, it is set back so you don't get any noise. The family who run this are very welcoming, generous and cannot do enough for you. Rooms are basic but large enough with self catering facilities, we had a side sea view which was nice to enjoy a cuppa on the balcony. Would definitely come back.
