★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food good. Staff lovely and helpful. Friendly hotel. Nice pool. Only downside for us was our room was on the ground floor and it was very noisy early mornings and sometimes at night due to our room being by the pool bar.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Enjoyed my week's stay. Fully inclusive with a variety served at every meal. Inviting pool area with comfortable deck chairs and umbrellas in the pool area. Short walk to the beach and as we visited at the end if the season it was very quiet. Short bus ride, which comes at regular intervals, to either Rethymon or Panorma and bus ticket is quite inexpensive. Staff are friendly and welcoming.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The hotel is located near the shingle beach, some beautiful tavernas and souvenir shops. The food is tasty but not many options to choose especially for vegetarians. The rooms are ok when you get them, but later on the cleaners don't care much about them - they come everyday but just to make the beds and mop the central part of the floor - they are not interested in the rest part of the floor even if it's really dirty... Moreover we haven't got any soap, shower gel or shampoo over the whole week so we needed to buy one on the first day. The swimming pool is big and clean but be careful it's really deep. The biggest advantage of this hotel is barman Jurek - always nice, smile and happy (what can't be said about the other barman...). Every guest loves him! :D He deserves an extra bonus or salary rise for the excellent job he does every day. One star more in our review because of him.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The highlight of this hotel is the staff. The staff led by Ava is the friendliest staff i have ever encountered at a hotel, whatever troubles you, they will solve it and they'll do it with a smile. The double rooms are standard, small with fairly hard beds and pillows, effective air condition systems will keep your rooms cool. The bathrooms are small, and have an inefficient layout. Solimar Dias is situated a 2 minute walk from the beach, where you can pay 6 euro for a set of 2 sunbeds at the local taverna. Rethymnon is 7 km away, 11 euro for a cab ride, or you can take the bus which stops right outside the hotel and costs 2 euro per person, just remember to buy the ticket in advance. The pool is small comparative to the hotels size and is pretty crowded. The buffet serves delicious food at breakfast, lunch and dinner and you will eat your brains out at the buffet. cleanliness of the hotel is generally good though the pool areas could use some work. i strongly recommend this hotel if you value good service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ PLEASANTLY SURPRISED. Our last day tomorrow (8/8/2019), and will be sad to go. Due to the last minute booking, and low price paid, we were unsure what to expect, but have been pleasantly surprised. The rooms, albeit fairly basic, were cleaned daily, and have ice cold air conditioning. We thought we were getting in-land view rooms, but ended up with sea-view. Very happy indeed. The food is tasty and plentiful, and the drinks endless. Add to that the staff who are hard working and always smiling, there is nothing not to like. If you are after a peaceful, low-key Greek holiday, ignore the bad reviews, and consider this place. One negative to our stay would be, the certain few guests who decided to slam their doors shut at every opportunity. Our doors closed just fine, without the need for brute force!. No bad reflection on the hotel, just a few ignorant guests. Thankyou all. Bridge Family, south wales.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Do not believe the negative reviews on trip advisor. This is a beautifully kept hotel with wonderfully friendly and helpful staff. There is a vast variety of dishes to choose from and delicious selection of local and international foods. Our room was spacious and comfortable which was cleaned daily by the lovely Maria. Proximity to the local city is not a problem as tickets are less than €2 return and there are well stocked supermarkets less than 50 yards down the main road. Within those 50 yards there are three routes to the shingle beach which is visible from the front of the hotel. Do yourself a favour and book yourself a nice break to Crete. Solimar Dias is a fantastic place to stay.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have a mixed review having recently stayed at the hotel. The room was clean and kept clean and had adequate air con but not many drawers. It had a fridge which is a bonus. The food was tasty but
basic with salad and spaghetti and bolognese every day with a fish dish a meat dish, usually pork and a few other dishes.Staff were great, polite and responded immediately. It had a shop and beach over the road and only 1 euro 30 each way for buses. It was a bit of a walk to get to the main shops and taverns but there were some nearby.Crete is beautiful, we watched a sea turtle released, visited Knossos Palace. The harbour is beautiful and the people friendly. The hotel lacks activities, entertainment and only had 1 bar open. If you want a relaxing experience, that is back to basics this is the place for you.
