★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Apparently 11am on Sunday is a special ceremony. I don't believe it's anything different to going at a different time. I would recommend going in the evening when it is much cooler

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Take a look on a parlament and changing Of a guardsmen (tsolias) in national clothes, go to the Zeus Temple, walk round Zappeion park and don’t forget to visit a new museum of Acropolis. Then next day can climb up on Acropolis (amazing experience, one of the ancient monuments that still exists nowadays). Don’t forget to take a cap of a “greek coffee” (ellinikos) in a small streets down to the Ermou street. Unique places.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The central hub for the Athens's tram and metro network and a must see location for changing of the guard. Pretty much everything is within walking distance... We arrived here, watched the changing ceremony and then walked to the Temple of Hephestus in about 20 mins.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Syntagma is so nice square. If you plan to visit Athens, don't miss this place near Hellenic Parliament. Every tourist stop here at least to take a picture or watch Evzones wearing pleated skirts and march and dance or do a little kick step with their sarouchi shoes with the pom-poms.
