Enjoyed 5 days here over Christmas. Great rooms serviced every day. Excellent staff. Right in the centre of Athens and so close to all the major landmarks. Fabulous rooftop restaurant with all the views you could want.

The Athens Gate Hotel is a must visit when traveling to Athens. This beauty has everything you can expect from a five star hotel even though it's classified at four stars. Everything from stunning views, great service and amazing food makes this a wonderful stay. The rooms on the east side gives you a beautiful view of The temple of Olympian Zeus while on the west side of the hotel you get an amazing view of acropolis both during night and day. The restaurant and bar area is situated at the top floor with 360Β° views of the city. A cold beer at the upper balcony with the view of acropolis is fantastic and enough to make you sit there for hours. This hotel has definitely made my top 10 in the world and is by far my favorite when traveling to Athens. Worth noting is the amazing staff that really gives the cherry on top feeling. The hotel is near a busy road, but the walls have great insulation and noise is never a problem. Would recommend everyone visiting Athens to stay a night here or to at least try the restaurant and enjoy the fantastic views. Thank you to all the amazing people at The Athens Gate Hotel. I will be coming back!!

Well located, close to the metro, and in the center of the most important sights. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and they offer a wide array or bathroom items. The view from the restaurant is wonderful both day and night, and the breakfast is splendid. The staff is super friendly as well. One thing I would like more hotels to offer is an ironing table and a hot iron. The hotel does offer dry cleaning and ironing services, but I would like to be able to iron my own clothes.

Very nice centrally located hotel in Athens. Within walking distance of the Acropolis and the Plaka. Modern, clean, very nice helpful staff and a delicious buffet breakfast included. Highly recommended.

So many reasons to love Athens Gate Hotel. First, the stellar staff. With each interaction, they made my spouse and I and the couple we were traveling with forget we were in a large city. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We were fortunate enough to get rooms offering views of the remaining columns of the Temple of the Olympian Zeus and Hadrian's Arch. The location is excellent! We found ourselves within walking distance to the Acropolis, the museum and so many charming restaurants, it was difficult selecting one. The dining room and bar should not be missed. And this place is no secret so if you're the gregarious type, you may find yourself engaging with people from other hotels who came for the glorious view of the Acropolis. I had such fun becoming acquainted with the lovely dining room staff. They were always busy but kept smiling through it all. And they were great sports indulging me in my feeble attempts at Greek. The best dessert I had on this trip to Greece was here! Cinnamon ice cream topped with a phyllo cracker. This sounds simple, I know, but the four of us couldn't stop raving about it. This will be the hotel I book on my next visit to Athens.

Perfect hotel near Plaka neighborhood and 5 minute walk to Acropolis. The hotel was clean, had great breakfast with beautiful views. Staff was very friendly and went above and beyond to accommodate. Christina at the front desk made dinner reservations for us and also recommended great restaurants. Dimitri, concierge/doorman was also was very helpful on many occasions helping with Taxi's etc. He knew that when we were checking out because we had an early ferry, that we would miss breakfast, so he arranged the night before to have breakfast packed and ready for us the morning of our department. This is a great place to stay in Athens with outstanding staff .

We had a wonderful experience here from start to finish. The rooms are nice and very clean, the staff are all excellent, and the views from the rooftop bar/restaurant truly cannot be beat. And some of the best Greek food you can find in any of the tourist areas is right around the corner (try Liondi....and being Greek-American I know good Greek food made by my Yia Yia ?)

The stand out asset of this hotel is its location offering a perfect view of the Acropolis from the 8th floor bar and restaurant. At night if offers a floodlit backdrop and over breakfast a stunning view with your coffee. The hotel itself has nice rooms with shower and good housekeeping. Only instant coffee available in room though -ugh! Breakfast is OK. There is a good range but I didn't find it that tasty and the hot breakfast was never hot. Easy to fill up though on croissants, cereal, toast and fruit. I was lucky to be in a 5th floor room at the back overlooking the Acropolis. Except there is a 6 storey building opposite that limited the view to a tiny corner and I had to get out onto the balcony for that! But I say lucky because the rooms at the front look out onto an 8 lane highway. You step out the front entrance straight into rush hour autogeddon! One day I got marooned on the central island because the green pedestrian light changed to red halfway across. For one minute there was 4 lanes of traffic flying past on both sides of a 2 foot strip of pavement! It is exactly one minute because you can count down the seconds on the light display while clinging onto the lamp post. On the far side of the road though is the Temple of Olympian Zeus but save yourself the entry fee because the view from the 8th floor restaurant gives a far better view of the layout. Traffic aside this is still a good hotel in a great location and one I would come back to.
