★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Probably the biggest of the Meteora monastery complex. Imposing for its size and impressive for its curated collection of artifacts, ceremonial gowns and 14th century AD scripts. Lots of steps to climb, so be prepared, BUT the breathtaking views are all so very rewarding. Highly recommended to visit for its collections and museum and for the awesome views.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is definitely place to visit, spectacular views, monasteries, rocks from out of this world. Entry to monastery was 3€, payable only with cash. Women need to have covered legs, but the can get skirt at the entrance so you don't need to worry much.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely wonderful place of peace and beauty. Be prepared to climb about 300 stairs to the entrance. Enjoy the museum rooms and the views of the area, and especially the church, with interior walls painted in 1552 (no photos allowed inside).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was incredible! We had a local tour guide named Tina who took us around. The history is Amazing. There are 3 monks who live here currently. We actually saw the abbot! Which was cool. You must be able to walk 530 stairs up. Bring water.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kalambaka and the monasteries are amazing and out-worldly! When you visit you need to wear no tank tops and no short shorts to enter the monasteries.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful área, a hike to get there. Do not remember how many stairs, but it was a little bit on the difficult side.
After being on top the views are worth all the effort.
Wear loose pants or a skirt if you are women, long pants if you are a man. They offer pareos at the entrance.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As its name says the Great Meteoron is the biggest monastery in all Meteora, as well the oldest one. It is built on top of a gigantic (biggest) rock of the region in 14 c.
Like all others it requires many steps to climb to reach it, so it might not be suitable for people with mobility issues. Bear in mind that those steps were made in early 20c only - until then monks used ropes and ladders to reach it.
The Church built in 16 c in the middle of the complex is outstanding. Great views of entire area from the terrace.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ All the meteors are great to see around to walk around, to drive around. To enter not really - lack of any good your or interesting exhibits.
They really history and piece of Greece but the temperature lack of any organization is not a thing which tourists like.
ADDITIONALY: entry any walk around is not handicap friendly, there is no help or any instructions for disabled people- which looks like a standard in Greece
