★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very cool place by the Kournas Lake. The waiter is very sympathetic and the food is nice. It is also a good place to rent a pedalo at a cheap price. I recommand the place without hesitation!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First impressions are important….First experience EVER on the Island of Crete where we were really shunned for whatever reason…Color of our skin? Beach attire? We’re from Hawaii people!!! We were coldly greeted with a Good morning by a red-headed lady (as the men sitting at the entrance, made rude remarks) who came to the table as we sat ourselves & asked what we wanted, (we ordered drinks) not even asking us if we’d like to see a menu etc., We were actually contemplating on leaving after we finished our drinks.The vibe was very cold & unwelcoming. But, we really wanted to try their local food…(Mind you, WE LIVE here!) We ordered lunch & EVERYTHING was excellent, Salada, Apaki & a roasted lamb…At the end, we ask for our tab & the same lady comes with some watermelon ? which was also very nice….but, first time ever that we were not served Raki at the end of our meal…..The younger male server was very professional, so thank you. But, it’s something to be said about being kind with your words & actions. Even if we don’t speak the language fluently, we do understand when others are not being friendly & just nice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice view of the lake and free wifi. Would give two stars for food but location and free parking (btw parking is free if you eat at any place here). Moussaka was not even reheated right and cold inside, rabbit was rubbery and staff is less than enthusiastic or friendly. This is a typical tourist place when owners / staff know that they will never come back. We definitely wouldn't, not for food anyway. Overflowing garbage bins in the washrooms, toilets are missing locks, staff is lounging in half empty restaurant. If anybody thinks that this is authentic Greek food they would be sadly disappointed and it's not fair to Greek food. Pictures of food are definitely better than food itself.
