Unbelievable place - village hidden in the forest, beautiful old traditional house, AMAZING food, I can honestly say it’s one of our top food location on Crete (and we know the island really well). They serve traditional Cretan food with a delicate modern twist. simply delicious. And Nichos, the owner, is a super sweet guy that you will instantly be a friend with. Honest and cheerful. Will miss this place.

It is a spacious tavern in a delightful setting, decorated with taste and with a lovely, artistic, rustical touch. There is no menu here as the available dishes vary each day. Every dish here is amazing and almost always a different, more elegant and delicious variant of the dishes you will find in other taverns. The owner gave us a warm welcome, was always friendly, honest, generous, and uncomplicated. To top it off, the food is also cheap.

Hidden in the bottom of Apokoronas valley, this is a little piece of paradise. Great traditional atmosphere and food, cooked with a twist. Not your typical tavern, you come here for something more. We wanted seconds from everything we tried, from the inspired and super fresh salad, to the tender and simultaneously crisp meat. Service was exceptional, with the owner treating us like family. Great value for money, both for the food and for the atmosphere.

The food was always fantastic and the taverna has a great atmosphere helped on by the host Niko who will keep you well lubricated with Raki and the house wine! Sorry we never got the chance to say goodbye Niko as we ended up staying in Loutro for a couple of nights at the end of our stay. Thanks for everything Anthony and Julie.
