★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you ever get the chance to visit Crete, this Is a must visit. 16km hike down a gorge. From top to bottom. Took 6 hours. Hard walking in some places but absolutely breath taking experience. Never before seen such crystal clear mountain water. You get the chancd to dip your feet in along the way. Places to fill up your water bottle along the route. You get a boat at the bottom then a bus back to the top.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely fantastic, the gorge was closed until the end of April, so we went for a walk along the E4 path for a few kilometres to the refuge and the views of the surrounding countryside is stunning. Well worth the effort.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went on a 4x4 wheel safari around these mountains, off a Tui cruise which stopped off in Crete.
What a fantastic experience... More to follow, but I'll post some photos now.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a beautiful gorge. You may find some springs after the stairs ended. Don't start the tour without a shoe with a good grip.
I loved to refresh myself with the cool seawater at the port, it was a safe haven for my tired feets.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic trek through the Samaria Gorge. Difficult trek not for everyone. I'm of medium fitness. A lot of very rocky terrain. I did it in a pair of runners but would advise proper trekking shoes. But if you think you're up to it it's well worth the effort. The scenery/landscape breathtaking.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ With a jeep if planning to drive. Good hiking shoes if the plan is to walk. Still some who live nearly the old way with the goats. Excellent view over the landscape.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful nature worth visiting. You can take a hike through Samaria Gorge early in the morning. It will take you 5 to 6 hours to get to Agia Roumeli and then 45 mins by boat to Sougia. From there the bus will take you back to parking at the top of Samaria Gorge which is 50 mins.
