★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Acro&polis was just perfect.Sakis made sure our visit was wonderful, introducing us to the neighborhood, providing a bottle of wine for the rooftop terrace and fresh fruit in the fridge. There was an upgraded room available and he gave it to us for the same price.
Acro&Polis is in the Planka so I was surprised at the quiet street tucked away from the commercial area.
Why go out to a rooftop dinner when you have the most beautiful terrace in Athens to enjoy the view and have a picnic under the stars? We're staying an extra night!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After a long flight to Athens, it was great to see our name held by a driver sent by the hotel . It saved having to negotiate transportation in the busy Plaka area. Sakis met us and made available a comfortable upgraded room with beautiful views of the city. We were just below the roof deck with the Acropolis almost hanging over it, and unimpeded views of the city spread around. (I was told building heights are limited to maintain the views.) The rooftop views alone are a great reason to stay here.

We asked about lunch, and Sakis personally walked us to a nearby restaurant at the foot of the Acropolis.
Around dark, we took a bottle of wine the hotel provided to a table on the roof when I heard a bugle and saw that atop the Acropolis, the Greek flag, though not the regular one, was being struck. I was told that it marked the occasion of Greek patriots climbing the sheer cliff of the Acropolis to remove the German flag during WWII and fly the Greek flag. Our next day there, the current flag was flying.
In addition to being helpful with recommendations and whatever needed attention, Sakis went out of his way to arrange an extra night for us when a flood prevented our leaving town for a day. I would choose this hotel again. It's a great location.
