L	La Korban on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not sure what happened to my previous review that is not showing anymore! Here it is again... I am NOT going to let this go! This to show how BAD this experience was and in hope to help others! Now I actually know what happened! the Location at the airport (that is where I had rented the car from) is not there anymore! So they took it out with all the reviews I guess! How convenient! This is one of the times I wish I can wright a review without a star! These guys definitely don't deserve it!!! Avoid Avis at ALL cost!!! Unless you want to pay for a mechanical problem that you DID NOT cause! On top of that, you would be stranded in the middle of nowhere under the sun (at least 2 hours) and then you have to find your way to the airport to pickup another car!!!! SERIOUSLY!!! Oh, sorry they suggested to have the tow truck driver drop me off at a bus stop somewhere! Not that he could have anyway or I would have accepted either! How can someone possibly break a clutch in less than a half day, driving on a regular road (not off roading ) I can assure you, I am an experienced stick shift driver!! They have a guy in there that you need to avoid talking to at all cost as well! You would think it is an Avis Santorini problem right? NOOOO Corporate in the US did not help either! What a customer service you ask! Now disputing thru credit card!

Much appreciated and if we do come back to Santorini, we will definitely use Avis again! Excellent customer service!

They said, they can give a ride to the hotel but we won't get our car until 6.00 PM. I mean I have plan to go to Amoudi Bay and I need a car for that! AVIS = AVOID

We get to Santorini, and the agent refusing to give us a car, for a reason that my driving license not valid on Santorini. I traveling a lot and this was the first time I get in such service. My country singed on the international obligation validating my license in all across EU, a person who siting and give a service of this king, this is the least he should know. "thank" you AVIS, and real thanks to AVANCE for help us out

Our flight was 12 hours delayed so I called ahead and asked if there was any problem holding my car reservation and they assured me there was no problem. When I arrived 13 hours later, at 12:30 am they told me that my reservation was no longer valid since I arrived after midnight, and in addition, they had gave away my car already so there was nothing I could do. This left me and my family with 3 tired little kids stranded at the airport without a car after a long day of travel. I ended up having to pay a taxi 40 euros to the hotel, then another 40 to get back in the morning to rent a car from another agency. To make matters worse, they weren’t apologetic at all and placed the blame on me for arriving so late. Save yourself the trouble and rent from another company.

My husband and I booked a car through a local company and they did not show up at said date & time. A male staff was there to help us with calling the company (which to no avail) and willingly wait for about 1 hour in case they showed up. They never did. But we were thankful for the staff as he waited for us, as they were only open when a flight arrives. We eventually rented a Peugeot 108 with Avis, full insurance and all and were very satisfied!

I had booked a car from 2pm, our ferry was delayed and I arrived at 3pm, which I thought would not be an issue. When I arrived, no one was at the counter. I waited ONE WHOLE HOUR for the employee to arrive. During this time, all other car rental companies (hertz, etc) had someone at the counter. You would think the guy would apologize? NEVER! He instead blamed me for being late and he was borderline aggressive. So unprofessional, rude attitude and not customer-centric! I was shocked. Then when I went to pick the car, I had to come back at the counter because they had parked a car right in front of it. Again, no apology whatsoever. DO NOT CHOOSE THIS COMPANY! Pick any other at the airport, as they all seemed much friendlier and reliable.

At the end of the second day of renting the car's shading pedal was suddenly not working while we were on the road driving. We had to stop, we couldn't reach the agency, neither the SOS number indicated on the contract (supposed to work 24 hours a day) the reservation service advice couldn't help us, they gave us numbers that didn't work and they couldn't do anything for usWe finally got a Greek number (out of the package), a woman answered us with a lot of difficulties by informing us that a repairman was going to pick up the car to take it to the garage and "that we had to manage to get back to the hotel". A shame from an agency like Avis! We were scared and scared to death. They ruined our vacation. The convenience store arrived after 2 hours and they asked us to go to the airport to sign the papers. There is no bus to get around, we would have had to pay a taxi at 30 euros min. This is a shame from a large group of people. We paid for a quality service, if we wanted this kind of service we would have gone through a local agency we would have surely had a better car at a reduced price. We got no refunds, no compensation, no discounts and no compensation. We advise you not to go through this agency, the service is terrible!!!
